LEGO® Lovers of All Ages Invited to Create Models for “Music City is AWESOME” Contest

Awesome Exhibition – The Interactive Exhibition of LEGO® Models at Opry Mills Extends Run through July 4th

NASHVILLE (April 19, 2022) – Awesome Exhibition – The Interactive Exhibition of LEGO® Models announces plans for its first-ever LEGO® model building contest. In addition, the Awesome Exhibition, created by LEGO® Certified Professional Ryan “The Brickman” McNaught and presented by Rockefeller Productions, extends run through July 4, 2022 at Opry Mills.

“After just one month in Music City, the Awesome Exhibition team recognized the many LEGO® enthusiasts in the community, and it only made sense for us to initiate a contest that would inspire LEGO®lovers to express their creativity through the authenticity that Nashville has to offer,” said Jonathan Rockefeller, founder of Rockefeller Productions. “We’re also excited to offer a longer opportunity, through July 4th, for families in the region to visit the Awesome exhibition, facilitated by the school year being over.”

The “Music City is AWESOME” contest will accept submissions that are themed to music and Nashville or a combination of both. Builds for the contest should be based on creativity and use of theme and submitted by May 20, 2022. LEGO® lovers of all ages will have the opportunity to participate in the contest with three age groups for judging: 12 years old and under; ages 12 to 17 years old; and ages 18 plus. A thorough description of contest rules can be found at Music City is AWESOME.

Builds will be judged based on creativity and use of the theme. There will be one winner per category, and the winners will receive the following:

  • Four (4) Tickets to Awesome Exhibition at Opry Mills
  • A $100 Gift Card to the LEGO® Store
  • Models will be featured on Awesome Exhibition social media, with the option to display the winning model in the Awesome Exhibition for the remainder of the run (models will be available for collection upon conclusion of the exhibition).

The interactive exhibition, designed for LEGO® enthusiasts of all ages, features 39 large-scale LEGO® creations including the largest-ever LEGO® brick Caterpillar dump truck, the world’s first life-sized LEGO® brick Harley-Davidson, an 8-foot-tall 660-pound Orca, and a detailed model of the Eiffel Tower built from more than 62,000 bricks. In all, the entire exhibition took more than 5,000 hours to create with over 2 million LEGO® bricks.

In addition to the iconic LEGO® models, the interactive exhibition includes LEGO® building stations throughout for visitors to create their own masterpieces along with designated selfie stations for collaboration and engagement through the 90-minute experience.

The Awesome Exhibition is located near Entry 6 and Regal Theatre in Opry Mills. Tickets are available at AwesomeExhibition.com. Exhibition days and times vary so please visit AwesomeExhibition.com for up-to-date information. In addition to tickets for adults and children, families can purchase a special Family Pack for groups of two adults and two kids.
