July 14, 2022 -- Nashville, TN -- The Nonprofit Fundraising Initiative, in partnership with Shower the People, a nonprofit organization that provides showers and laundry services to people experiencing homelessness, will host Hope and Harmony Songwriters’ Night on September 29, 2022 at 6:00pm at The Bell Tower (400 4th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37201).
The event will feature a cocktail hour, gourmet food stations, a singer-songwriter showcase, whiskey tasting, and silent auction— all to benefit Shower the People, a local organization that aims to meet the unmet needs of Nashville’s unhoused population.
“We are proud to host this event to help raise funds for many Nashvillians experiencing homelessness and meet these basic needs,” said Nathaniel Beaver, Founder of Nonprofit Fundraising Initiative.
Shower The People’s focus is on providing showers and mobile laundry services to those individuals with the most barriers and limited access to these facilities throughout Davidson County.
Access to shower and laundry services is one of the greatest unmet needs of Nashville’s homeless community. Only 15 showers are available on a walk-in basis to those experiencing homelessness. Many of these locations are only available during specific times or days of the week.
"Showers and hygiene is such a basic human need that makes such a difference,” said Meredith MacLeod Jaulin, Executive Director of Shower The People. “This has the ability to improve someone’s outlook on their day, improve their health, and restore dignity. We are thrilled to be partnering with the Nonprofit Fundraising Initiative for this event to raise funds to help us continue to grow and provide more hygiene services to those in need.”
Proceeds from this event will be used to purchase a truck for our mobile laundry trailer. In addition, the funds will be used for all the supplies needed to take advantage of the showering and laundry services as well as new socks and underwear; and “take-with-them” kits to meet their dental and hygienic needs when there is no access to a shower.

Shower the People is a Nashville-based non-profit that provides showers and laundry services to people experiencing homelessness. They operate in various locations across the city, using fire hydrants to power a school bus retrofitted with two full private bathrooms, giving their guests the space and privacy they need for hygiene services.
