Velvet Taco Coming to Nashville's Assembly Food Hall

Assembly Food Hall is bringing a unique taco concept to Nashville this May.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 6, 2021) – Assembly Food Hall is bringing a unique taco concept to Nashville this May. Velvet Taco, a fast-casual dining experience out of Dallas, offers a fresh take on tacos through globally inspired recipes and the freshest ingredients.

The acclaimed restaurant provides a broad sampling of international tastes and inventive combinations, delivering flavors that are as memorable as they are delicious.

“Velvet Taco is a completely new concept to Nashville,” said David Daniels, senior vice president of marketing at The Food Hall Co., Assembly Food Hall’s parent company. “Their reimagined take on tacos complements the tastes and variety we’ve curated throughout the hall. We are thrilled to add Velvet Taco to our one-of-a-kind, world class dining and entertainment destination in the heart of downtown Nashville.”

The acclaimed restaurant concept elevates the ubiquitous taco with distinctive, made-from-scratch chef-elevated offerings featuring a range of tastes and spices from around the globe. The restaurant will serve various types of tacos on handmade tortillas including Chicken and Waffles, Spicy Tikka Chicken, Nashville Hot Tofu, Beer Battered Cauliflower and more, as well as creative sides and scratch-made red velvet cake. Ingredients are created in-house with the finest, freshest ingredients – from slow-roasted rotisserie chicken to house-made pickles.

“We are excited to enter the Nashville market, where people know great food, in two locations this year – at Assembly Food Hall this May and a second location in midtown this fall,” said Velvet Taco CEO Clay Dover. “At Velvet Taco, we treat our tortillas as a vessel to create gourmet tacos with the best ingredients and diverse flavors for the adventurous foodie.”

Assembly Food Hall opened its doors in March with Phase 1 including two bars and eight eateries. Scheduled to open in May 2021, Phase 2 will grow the multilevel venue to more than two dozen eateries and bars, a full-service restaurant, three stages, live music venue and an expansive rooftop space overlooking Broadway.
