How Diskin Cider has Adapted During Trying Times

Diskin Cider practices ‘Social Diskining’ and adopts new protocols locally and across the US.

(July 20th 2020) Nashville, TN - Back in March of 2020 when the coronavirus began to shut down Nashville, Diskin Cider pivoted their thriving cider making business by starting to offer curbside pickup and free Davidson county delivery every day of the week. Thanks to the Davidson County Metro Beer Boards new regulations, Diskin Cider was still able to focus on it’s community and get cider and masked-smiles to where it was needed and wanted. They also launched “Diskin at Your Door” shipping cider to 38 different states. This is all part of their Social Diskining initiative to ensure that fans, community, staff, and families are staying safe during this time, but still staying social.

Diskin Cider has always been first and foremost about community. Social Diskining is an extension of this mantra. In addition to making cider more accessible to everyone throughout Nashville and the United States, Diskin Cider has continued to help everyone stay safe and social by hosting virtual happy hours and concerts, helping our local community organizations, and once again, being a place to safely gather to celebrate, heal, and be together - safely.

When Diskin was finally able to open their doors again in Phase 1 of Nashville’s reopening plan, extra precautions were taken. These include taking all staff and guests temperatures, shifting from traditional bar service to table service to prevent groups gathering and designating only certain masked, gloved and protected staff members to handle plates, glassware and other items used by anyone else. They altered their floor plan to practice safe social diskining by keeping tables 28 cans (6 feet) apart.

Shipping cider around the country is all handled by one designated individual, ensuring that contact with products is limited, the packaging is thoroughly cleaned prior to packing and every package goes out with the same care taken in opening the Diskin Cider tasting room. Community and kindness has always been Diskin’s mantra from before they even opened their doors and now more than ever, they have re-committed to their guiding principles to keep Nashville safe while serving their community dangerously good cider.

Diskin Cider is proud to be Nashville’s first and only craft cidery bringing true craft cider and seltzer to Tennessee and the South. Diskin breaks the mold of overly sweet cider and seltzer with the natural flavor of fresh-pressed juice and no artificial flavorings or added sugar. Diskin’s tasting room is located in the Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood and is currently open to the public Thursday through Sunday for dine in, as well as curbside pickup and free Davidson county delivery every day of the week.
