The 404 Kitchen Welcomes Marcus Samuelsson as Staycation Series Continues

Chef Samuelsson and The 404 Kitchen’s Chef Matt Bolus have collaborated on a unique Menu highlighting dishes from around the World.

NASHVILLE (August 5, 2020) – Celebrated chef Marcus Samuelsson is the next chef collaboration in The 404 Kitchen’s summer staycation dinner series. The 404 Kitchen will serve a collaborative menu of Worldly Cuisine created by Chefs Samuelsson and Bolus. The exclusive menu is the third in the summer series and will be available from Tuesday, August 11 - Saturday, August 30, 2020. Dishes will be available for dine-in guests, as well as guests preferring to take their food home.  

Chef Marcus Samuelsson is an award-winning chef who has cooked all around the globe. The author of several cookbooks and a New York Times best-selling memoir, he has also cooked at the White House under the Obama Administration. His philanthropic efforts, serving as a UNICEF Ambassador, a member of the U.S. State Department’s Chef Corps, and as the co-chairman for the organization Careers Through Culinary Arts Program.  

“We could never have been prepared for how to navigate through this “new” normal, but chefs are known for being adaptable and pivoting and that is exactly what this dinner series is about,” says chef Samuelsson. “ I jumped at the chance to collaborate with Matt and his team and pay tribute to one of my favorite cities from its historic roots in the civil rights movement to its legendary music scene.  While I wish I could be there in person, I know the team will do an incredible job bringing my cuisine to Music City.” 

“I’ve followed chef Samuelsson throughout my career and have been inspired by his global approach to food, as well as his tremendous efforts to use food as a platform for positive change,” explains chef Bolus. “I’m excited to bring this unique menu to our diners so they can experience flavors from around the world.”   

Menu highlights include: Cauliflower Frites with Green Mayonnaise includes beer battered florets that are gently spiced with ras el hanout, Tabasco, lime juice and soy sauce, fried and served hot with a green mayonnaise made with blistered jalapenos and brightened with rice vinegar;  the Marcus Short Ribs are a chef signature so good, they were served to President Obama. Made with English-cut short ribs simmered and finished in a sauce of lemongrass, garlic, ginger, and plum sauce; and the Charred Summer Succotash with Cooling Yogurt made with charred tomatoes and corn tossed with bacon, berbere, mint, basil, and shallots and served with a chilled Greek yogurt spiced with tahini, berbere, lime, and sesame seeds.
