Performance Dates extended for the Itsy Bitsy Spider

After numerous SELL OUT dates, Nashville Children’s Theatre adds two weeks to its popular Snuggery show, The itsy Bitsy Spider.

The run for The Itsy Bitsy Spider has been extended from September 22 until October 6. Performances are Tuesday-Friday at 9 am and Saturday and Sunday at 9:30 am and 11:30 am. All performances are at Nashville Children’s Theatre.

In this World Premiere production, two young gardeners lead audience members through an adventurous day of gardening. They plant flowers, deal with rain, and meet a determined eight-legged hero. A favorite childhood song comes to life in this interactive, immersive theatrical experience!

Designed for ages 0-5 (or so), the performance is a creative experience involving songs and audience participation. During the show, children are provided with a small collection of props for use at specific times through-out the performance with the help of their adult. At the play’s end, each child receives a packet of seeds to take home!

The Itsy Bitsy Spider is written by Ernie Nolan. The cast includes Catherine Birdsong and Tamiko Robinson Steele.

Scenic and Lighting Design is by Scott Leathers, with Costume Design by Alarie Hammock and Sound Design by Ernie Nolan who also directs. The production is Stage Managed by Daniel C. Brewer.

Snuggery shows, NCT’s professional performance series for children 0-5 and their grown-ups, are performed for a small audience in an immersive environment that encourages creative participation in very young children.

In August of 2018, NCT premiered its first Snuggery show Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star to popular and critical acclaim.

The Theatre for the Very Young (TVY) work created at NCT puts the theatre in an international conversation with artists around the globe. Recently, Executive Artistic Director Ernie Nolan, who sits on the Executive Committee of ASSITEJ, was invited to represent the United States and speak to attendees about American TVY practices at the International Festival of Theatre and Culture for Early Years in Bologna, Italy.
