Nashville Zoo Receives Perfect Score By Charity Navigator

Nashville Zoo is proud to report that we have received a perfect score of 100 by Charity Navigator, the nation’s largest and most utilized evaluator of charities.

As a non-profit, conservation organization, Nashville Zoo is evaluated by a number of outside sources which assist donors in making informed giving decisions. Charity Navigator annually assesses more than 9,000 non-profits using an objective, numbers-based rating system.

No other zoo or aquarium has a 100 percent ranking and Nashville Zoo is also the only non-profit based in Middle Tennessee to receive a perfect score. Nationwide, less than one percent of evaluated non-profits can boast this achievement.

“The exceptional charities (that received 100 percent) execute their missions in a fiscally responsible way while adhering to good governance and other best practices that minimize the chance of unethical activities,” states Charity Navigator. “We applaud these charities for exceeding industry standards and outperforming other organizations performing similar work.”

As one of the top Zoos in the country, we understand that accountability and transparency are two important principles to which we must always adhere. A perfect score reassures both current and potential Zoo supporters that we are executing our mission to inspire a culture of understanding and discovery of our natural world through conservation, innovation and leadership in a fiscally-responsible manner, while providing the highest level of accountability and transparency to our stakeholders.
