Mane & Rye Dinerant Opens at Hutton Hotel

New casual eatery serves up elevated diner classics with all-day breakfast, homemade pies and lots of rye.

Nashville, TN—June 10, 2019—Hutton Hotel is proud to announce the opening of Mane & Rye Dinerant, a new restaurant concept for Nashville’s iconic hotel on West End. Opening June 13, Mane & Rye Dinerant reimagines the quintessential American diner in a setting that’s casual, sophisticated and stylish. With playful renditions of traditional comfort food, an array of housemade pies and boozy milkshakes, a comprehensive whiskey program and retro games—think music-themed pinball and table shuffleboard— Mane & Rye takes the classic diner to new heights.

Breakfast is served all day and features savory dishes like Short Rib Hash with fingerling potatoes, caramelized onions, and brussels sprouts, topped with a sunny side egg; and Cathead Biscuit and Gravy. On the sweet side there are stacks of Sour Cream Pancakes with whiskey bananas, raisins and maple syrup; and Panna Cotta with Greek yogurt, passion fruit and macadamia nuts. Lighter dishes on the menu include the house Chop with grilled chicken on a bed of greens, a sieved egg, asparagus, and bacon, topped with green goddess dressing; and a S.O.D. (soup of the day) made with seasonal ingredients. On the sandwich menu, the American Burger is a double patty of Porter Road Butcher grind topped with Duke’s and American cheese and served with a side of fries; and the Turkey Reuben is topped with apple-pear kraut, Havarti cheese, and signature sauce on multi-grain bread. The Supper menu is offered after 5 pm and includes Southern classics like Chicken-Fried Steak with potato puree, braised greens and country gravy; Shrimp and Grits with Tasso ham, poached egg, and Weisenberger grits; and Bourbon-Brined Pork Chops, paired with cornbread panzanella, stonefruit and mustard jus.

Desserts at Mane & Rye Dinerant are as nostalgic as they are delicious, paying homage to beloved diner desserts with an ever-changing selection of freshly baked pies. Other treats include Birthday Cake (“because you can”); Seasonal Cheesecake; and an assortment of Donuts. But no diner experience is complete without a milkshake. Mane & Rye Dinerant offers a selection of adult milkshakes (which can be made non-alcoholic) like The Vlad with malted vanilla ice cream, Stolichnaya and Kahlua; and Fat Elvis with banana ice cream, peanut butter, Jack Daniel’s and fluff.

As its name suggests, the new restaurant is very much about rye (the “Mane” in the name is a nod to the hotel’s mascot, Hutt, a life-size horse sculpture that stands at the hotel’s entrance). In addition to its comprehensive selection of rye whiskeys, Mane & Rye’s menu includes several craft cocktails that feature rye whiskey/bourbons—their names reflecting the restaurant’s fun sensibility: Mane & Rye’s Tall, Dark, and Deadly with Belle Meade Reserve, Pig’s Nose Scotch, Carpano Antica, Branca Menta and Angostura Bitters; and It Costs A Lotta Money To Look This Cheap with Buffalo Trace, espresso-infused Cynar, Averna, Angostura, Demerara cream and cocoa. Happy Hour includes drink specials that make sampling fun and affordable. Weekend brunch tempts diners with a Mimosa Kit and a make-your-own Bloody Mary cart offered tableside.

With top-notch comfort food, all-day breakfast, weekend brunch, Happy Hour, late night specials, and lively games, Mane & Rye Dinerant is a restaurant that’s sure to please a wide variety of diners interested in an equally wide variety of experiences.
