The Listening Room Cafe Launches Weekday Lunch Service, Free Live Music, and Announces New Executive Chef

Opryland Chef Takes The Helm at Downtown's Most Iconic Music Venue, Launching New Lunch Hours with Free Live Music.

NASHVILLE, TN (December 17, 2019) – The Listening Room Cafe recently announced two major updates to their culinary program. Beginning January 3rd, the restaurant and music venue will launch weekday lunch service featuring a new menu, accompanied by free live music Monday through Friday. The team has also welcomed new Executive Chef Danyelle Hudgins to lead their kitchen and menu development.

Located in Downtown Nashville's SoBro neighborhood, The Listening Room Cafe has become one of the city's most iconic music destinations for locals and visitors alike. Founded in 2006 by owner and pit-master Chris Blair, the venue sets out to offer a well-rounded experience that places an emphasis on food in addition to great live music. Beginning January 3rd, the restaurant and venue, which currently serves dinner and Saturday brunch, will launch new weekday lunch hours from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The lunch menu, designed to cater to both the downtown business crowd and weekday traveler, will feature items like creative sandwiches, seasonal salads and in-house smoked meats. To accompany lunch service, the venue will offer free live music in the main dining room every Monday through Friday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., highlighting some of Nashville most renowned and up-and-coming songwriters. Tickets and lunch reservations are not required.

The restaurant and venue also recently welcomed Danyelle Hudgins as new Executive Chef of their main dining room, venue dining service, and catering and event programs. Executive Chef Hudgins joins The Listening Room team from the Gaylord Opryland Hotel, where she oversaw all kitchen operations for the resort. Chef Hudgins is an accomplished chef with more than a decade of experience in the culinary and hospitality industries, a formal training from the Art Institute School of Culinary Arts, and tenure in some of Nashville's top commercial kitchens. Originally from the Philadelphia area, her passion for cooking has been inspired by her family's passed-down recipes, and a desire to position herself as a leading female chef in a male-dominated industry.

With the addition of Executive Chef Hudgins and the restaurant's new service, The Listening Room hopes to offer more opportunities for guests to enjoy an experience that is uniquely Nashville. The Listening Room currently offers two songwriter shows per night, six nights a week (closed Sundays), free brunch shows on Saturday mornings from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and late-night happy hour every Friday and Saturday night. The Listening Room is located at 618 4th Ave S., just south of Broadway. For more information on the Listening Room, shows and dining, please visit listeningroomcafe.com.
