Leïla Ka: Triptyche

French choreographer Leïla Ka, recently called the country's "most in-demand young choreographer" by Le Monde, brings the U.S. premiere of her trilogy to Nashville. The three works - You're the One We Love, Bouffées (Gasp), and Pode Ser (Could it be) - trace a journey through docility, liberation, and self-discovery, with billowing vintage dresses becoming instruments of resistance against conformity and power. Ka's movement language fuses hip-hop and contemporary forms with raw emotion and theatrical precision, creating portraits of womanhood where bodies bend, resist, and reclaim their own stories.
