CJ Fam with Special Guests Alex Slay & Gabriel Thomas Broussard

ABOUT ALEX SLAY

Nostalgically soulful, yet new age, indie R&B artist Alex Slay blends rootsy, classic melodies with fresh, honest songs to match his free-spirited disposition. His incredible raw talent shines through precision that can only be cultivated by a true dedication to the craft. Raised on legends like Stevie Wonder and inspired by modern envelope pushers like Anderson Paak, Lucky Daye, and Allen Stone, the quiet kid from Ocala, Florida, has made a name for himself in Nashville's budding R&B scene.

Slay may be young, but his life experience sets him apart, giving him a unique story to tell. After cutting his teeth on cruise ships and traveling the world as a music teacher, he finally settled in Music City. Alex quickly broke through the noise with his first single, Cherry Wine, praised as "one of the most accessible Indie RnB tracks of the year" (A&R Factory).

With a voice poised for stardom and the perspective to match, Slay is sure to join as a modern R&B staple in no time.

ABOUT GABRIEL THOMAS BROUSSARD

Originally a Cajun boy from Lafayette, Louisiana. The spirit of the bayou breathed life into the way that he creates and the style he performs with. Local legends such as Marc Broussard, DL Menard, Wayne Toups, and his cousin Beau Thomas all played a huge part in helping him develop his musical palate. All of those artists infused their Cajun heritage into their art. That same Cajun culture was instilled in Gabriel as a child. From the time he could talk, he was running around his house singing at the top of his lungs.

He began performing for the first time at the age of 12 when he joined the band Charme and the Melophobia. He played with this group for a couple of years before the band reformed as Strange Theories. During his time with the group, he was invited to appear on season 11 of NBC's The Voice, where he competed in three televised rounds on Team Blake. After his appearance on the show, he put out 4 more songs with Strange Theories and played hundreds of shows across the Southeast. He has since relocated to Nashville, TN, where he has been blessed enough to have the opportunity to write music for Cornman/Warner Chappell.
