In the spring of 2020, we all moved our lives from the outside world to the inside world of our homes and screens in an effort to contain the spread of COVID-19. Conventions were canceled, site visits and events were postponed, and in-person meetings were replaced with virtual, on-screen sessions. But through it all, we haven't let that stop us from connecting with clients, our Nashville family. We've done online cooking classes, livestream concerts, Good to Go presentations, songwriter experiences, and more.
We've had so much fun with our partners and clients, we just have to share a few.
Kelly Sutton and Biscuit Love's Karl Worley virtually taught our clients how to make a classic Southern dish - biscuits and gravy! In addition to walking our clients through the steps, Biscuit Love supplied each of the participants ahead of time a small Lodge Skillet, Lilly White Flour (the brand Karl uses), Biscuit Love jam, and gravy seasoning packets.
It was so good, we saved the demo for you so you can try it out for yourselves! Watch the video and bake along.
"I absolutely loved that chef and totally agree that this was the very best virtual networking event I have participated in!!!"
"I am SO FULL! That was delicious. Thank you so much!!!!! Cannot wait to go to Maneet’s restaurant in Nashville!"
"Thank you for hosting. The event was so fun... Nashville always delivers!"
The NCVC was happy to have the opportunity to host 75 ASAE staff members with a presentation about the newly opened National Museum of African American Music made by Henry Hicks, president and CEO of NMAAM, who was joined by the NCVC’s Butch Spyridon. The event held on Feb. 26 at the Museum also included a performance by dynamic duo Louis York.
The NCVC Mid-Atlantic and Southwest teams invited clients to join them for a Peloton class. Thirteen clients from a variety of organizations donned their Nashville gear (love those hats!) and joined the NCVC's Jennifer Sullivan, Breana Burkhart, and Colleen Cowan for a high-energy exercise class with some personal connection time before and after.
"Great job all – And thanks for helping keep me motivated today! We can’t wait to be back in Nashville." – Stephanie Brooks, Globus Family
“I was riding with my Nashville swag on!” Megan Ogden, CMP Director, Education & Events, National Association of Colleges and Employers

The NCVC proudly hosted the CMP Breakfast again this year as part of the 2021 PCMA Convening Leaders Annual Meeting. We have hosted this breakfast recognizing Certified Meeting Professionals for 19 years and engaging with our partners remains as critical as ever. Live virtual performances from Louis York, made up of Nashville-based artists Claude Kelly and Chuck Harmony, entertained from the stage of renowned Nashville music venue 3rd & Lindsley. A few hotel partners joined us in person at socially-distanced tables while the event was livestreamed to 310 PCMA attendees.
The Meetings Industry Council of Colorado’s annual Serving Up Hope provided the opportunity for three community service days at the Food Bank of the Rockies, instead of the usual fundraiser. Maggie Reaville, NCVC Senior Sales Manager, was there with them.
Our own Jen Sullivan, Director of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Office, participated in the Washington D.C. Food Drive organized by CVB representatives in the area. They filled more than 200 bags of food and donated over $3,000 to United Food Bank.
Many people haven't been traveling for site visits but that doesn't mean you can't "visit" Music City! In 2020, we launched a Virtual Site Kit so you can learn about Nashville from wherever you are. The Virtual Site Kit includes information about our two main convention centers, unique meeting and event space, incredible hotel options, photos, videos, maps, our convention services, the hottest chicken, and the very best music.
In 2020, we also launched our new Meeting Notes email newsletter to keep you updated on what's happening in Nashville's convention sector, including updates about convention business news, new hotel developments, recent accolades, upcoming events, and everything you need to know about Music City.
Whether it's a cooking demo, a virtual concert, or a simple phone conversation, we want to keep in touch. You are our clients, our partners, and our family. And we can't wait to see you in person again in Nashville!
Let's talk. Tell us how you're doing.
