Third Coast Comedy Launches $100,000 Indiegogo Campaign to Complete Funding for New East Nashville Home
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Third Coast Comedy is inviting Nashville to help build the future of comedy in the city as the beloved comedy organization launches a 60-day Indiegogo campaign, running August 18 through October 17, to raise the $100,000 needed to complete funding for its new permanent home in East Nashville.
The campaign officially launches Tuesday, August 18, following a weekend of two special fundraising performances at the Nashville Children's Theater featuring improv legends Erica Elam and Blaine Swen, with opening sets from the Third Coast Comedy Mainstage Cast. The shows kick off a months-long effort to bring the organization one step closer to moving into its new home and expanding its role in Nashville's growing comedy community.
Third Coast Comedy's new East Nashville space is designed to be more than a venue. It will serve as a permanent home for live comedy, performance, education, community programming, and the artists who make Nashville's comedy scene thrive.
"After celebrating our tenth year at our annual Anniversary performance earlier this month, we were humbled by the stories and impact of all of those who have performed in our first home," said Luke Watson, Co-Founder. "Witnessing the impact of students from years past and just starting the Training Center, as well as the homecoming of past cast members who traveled from out of state to be a part of the conclusion of our first chapter, was an emotional and impactful night."
"This investment is worth it. It's an exciting time for us, and we're happy to create another space that so many people love," said Scott Field, Co-Founder.
To make the campaign an opportunity for supporters to become part of the new space, Third Coast Comedy is offering a variety of limited and exclusive perks based on donation levels, including limited-edition merchandise and artwork, as well as the chance for major supporters to have spaces within the new venue named in their honor. Campaign perks include:
- Theater naming opportunities
- Bar naming opportunity
- Limited-edition Third Coast Comedy T-shirts
- Limited-edition posters
- Exclusive campaign merchandise and experiences
- Additional supporter perks at various donation levels
This isn't just about raising money for a building; it's about creating a place where people can perform, learn, laugh, connect, and continue building Nashville's comedy community for years to come.
Third Coast Comedy encourages comedy fans, Nashville residents, local businesses, alumni, performers, and supporters across the country to visit the Indiegogo campaign, share it with friends and colleagues, and follow along throughout the 60-day fundraising effort.
