Nashville's Music City Turkey Trot Returns Thanksgiving Morning, Nov. 26, With Festive 5K and 1-Mile Waddle
Families, Friends and Four-Legged Participants Invited to Kick Off Thanksgiving With Costumes, Fitness and Fun at Nissan Stadium.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Before the turkey hits the table, Nashville residents and visitors are invited to lace up their running shoes, gather their flock and celebrate Thanksgiving morning at the 2026 Music City Turkey Trot 5K and 1-Mile Waddle, returning Thursday, Nov. 26, at Nissan Stadium. Hosted by Run Nash, the festive holiday event welcomes runners, walkers, families and four-legged friends for a morning filled with fitness, fun and Thanksgiving spirit.
The annual Thanksgiving tradition offers something for everyone, from competitive runners looking to earn their holiday feast to families enjoying a leisurely morning walk together. Participants are encouraged to embrace the holiday spirit by dressing in their favorite Thanksgiving-themed costumes, with prizes awarded for the top three costumes.
“The Music City Turkey Trot is one of our favorite Nashville traditions because it brings families, friends and neighbors together to kick off Thanksgiving in a fun and healthy way,” said Malain McCormick, Race Director for Run Nash. “Whether you're running the 5K, walking the 1-Mile Waddle or showing up in your best turkey costume, it's all about making memories and celebrating the holiday together. We love seeing families return year after year, and we're excited to welcome everyone back to Nissan Stadium for another unforgettable Thanksgiving morning.”
The 5K begins at 8 a.m., followed by the 1-Mile Waddle at 8:10 a.m. Both races start and finish at Nissan Stadium, bringing participants together for a spirited celebration before the day's holiday festivities begin.
Adding to the excitement, the popular Doggie Dash invites participants to bring their furry companions along for the fun. Dogs registered through the Doggie Dash add-on will receive their own race bib, finisher medal and special doggie bandana, making this a Thanksgiving celebration for the entire family.
All registered 5K and 1-mile participants will receive an official race T-shirt and finisher medal. Awards will recognize top male and female finishers overall and across multiple age divisions, along with the event's costume contest winners.
The Music City Turkey Trot is open to participants of all ages and fitness levels, making it an ideal way for families and friends to create lasting holiday memories while staying active.
Registration is now open, with entry fees of $60 for the 5K and $40 for the 1-Mile Waddle. Special $25 youth pricing is available for 5K participants younger than 18.
