Lions Share Tavern Unveils Next Chapter for Storied Sylvan Park Corner
The elevated neighborhood tavern introduces a broader menu, a dedicated kids’ menu, an expanded happy hour, and newly enhanced spaces.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lions Share Tavern today announced its next chapter as an elevated neighborhood tavern built for the local community. Shaped by community feedback, Lions Share Tavern (previously Lion’s Share) introduces an updated direction featuring a broader menu of tavern classics alongside staple dishes and seasonal hits, plus additional price points, a dedicated kids’ menu, an expanded happy hour, and enhanced spaces.
Occupying the storied Sylvan Park corner that fed the community for 41 years as McCabe Pub, Lions Share Tavern honors that legacy as it enters its next chapter at the intersection of Murphy Road and 45th Avenue North. Guided by its neighborhood-first commitment, the restaurant delivers on its foundational promise as equal parts neighborhood gem and destination dining room. Updates reflect direct input from the community, balancing an “elevated” quality on the plate with the warm atmosphere of a “neighborhood tavern.”
“We listened closely to feedback from our neighbors to evolve our menu, pairing tavern classics with guest favorites while staying true to our standards as chefs,” said Julio Morales, Executive Chef at Lions Share Tavern. “Since day one, our approach has been rooted in locality. As a local business ourselves, we take pride in sourcing the freshest possible produce and protein from nearby farms and partners. Every dish is cooked with intention and care for the ingredient to offer the best dining experience possible, whether guests are joining us for a casual weeknight meal or a special occasion.”
Broader Menu Featuring Tavern Favorites
Lions Share Tavern’s updated menu is under the culinary leadership of Executive Chef Morales and Executive Pastry Chef Keely Moore, who have both been at the restaurant since its April 2026 opening. Morales was previously Chef de Cuisine at The Loyalist in Chicago and led kitchens at Nashville’s Folk, Rolf and Daughters, and St Vito Focacceria. Moore brings a rich background in Michelin-starred kitchens, including Mini Bar in D.C. and Lazy Betty in Atlanta, to Lions Share Tavern’s dessert menu and bread program.
Prepared from scratch daily, the new menu introduces beloved tavern favorites alongside destination-worthy dishes from its signature wood-fire hearth. The beverage menu includes classic cocktails with a modern perspective, along with an extensive wine list and new beer taps coming soon.
- More Choices and Tavern Classics: Featuring approachable tavern favorites such as fish and chips, a variety of pastas, and a signature dry-aged cheeseburger brought to the main dinner menu. The new additions join menu staples such as short rib, steaks, and fresh fish dishes alongside seasonal hits.
- Flexible Price Points: Introducing a broader range of price points so guests can enjoy a casual weeknight meal, while still offering destination-worthy options for major celebrations.
- Kids’ Menu: Adding a dedicated, five-item kids’ menu to accommodate families.
- Expanded Happy Hour: Extending happy hour to two full hours Tuesday-Saturday from 4-6 p.m. at the bar and patio, featuring $2 oysters, half-price fish and chips, $8 glasses of wine, $10 cocktails, and more.
Newly Enhanced Indoor and Outdoor Spaces
Lions Share Tavern has enhanced its indoor and outdoor spaces, including new offerings fit for everyday dining, neighborhood gatherings, post-golf rounds, game days, and private events:
- Front Patio: Newly finished for outdoor dining featuring retractable electric screens, fans, heaters, greenery, and TVs, with dogs welcome.
- Main Bar: Equipped with a new TV and soon-to-arrive draft beer taps for walk-in seating or game-day viewing.
- The McCabe Lounge: The McCabe Lounge, the upstairs lounge and patio that was formerly a private space, is now open to the public with its own bar, TVs, and a screened, heated patio, making it the ideal spot for neighborhood gatherings or game days.
