Nashville, TN. - Holston House Nashville, part of Hyatt's Unbound Collection, is pleased to announce the appointment of Christa Tayeb as executive chef, overseeing culinary operations across the hotel's dining outlets, including TENN, Bar TENN and the rooftop lounge, Heirloom. Bringing more than 15 years of culinary and hospitality experience, Tayeb will lead menu development, kitchen operations and team leadership while continuing to elevate the property's dining program. Tayeb is currently developing a new fall food and beverage program, coming soon.
Tayeb’s appointment also honors Holston House’s history of women in culinary leadership. In the 1930s, when the property was known as the James Robertson Hotel, Hattie Ray served as its first executive chef. Hired by original owners John and Reba May Pritchett, Ray was known for helping host the hotel’s lavish parties and high teas.
Originally from the Philippines, Tayeb earned her Diploma in Culinary Arts and Hotel Management from the International School for Culinary Arts and Hotel Management (ISCAHM) before building her career in kitchens across Florida, Illinois, New York, North Carolina and Tennessee. Throughout her career, she has held culinary leadership roles at several of Nashville's premier hotels and restaurants, including the Gaylord Opryland Resort, The Joseph Hotel and QED Hospitality, earning a reputation for creating memorable guest experiences while fostering collaborative, high-performing kitchen teams.
Inspired by her grandmother's generosity and belief that food brings people together, Tayeb approaches hospitality with a focus on connection, mentorship and thoughtful, seasonal cuisine. Outside the kitchen, she enjoys volunteering in the community and is passionate about developing the next generation of culinary professionals.
