Friends In Low Places Will Donate 100% September 25 Sales to Dolly Parton's Imagination Library & Nashville Public Libraries

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Friends In Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk, located at 411 Broadway in Nashville’s Neon Neighborhood, will honor Dolly Parton on Friday, September 25, by declaring the date "Dolly Day" - a nod to Parton's iconic "9 to 5." From 10:00 AM to 2:00 AM, every dollar the bar brings in will go directly to the Imagination Library and Nashville Public Libraries. Friends In Low Places will also collect children's book donations throughout the day. This is the inaugural year of what will become an annual tradition at Friends In Low Places.

Parton founded the Imagination Library in 1995 in honor of her father, who never learned to read or write. The program has since put more than 300 million free books into the hands of children around the world. Parton died peacefully in Nashville on August 25, 2026, at age 80.

Friends In Low Places is framing the day simply: whatever the cash register says at the end of the day goes toward Dolly's passion for children's literacy. This day is wholly about Dolly and her love for children’s literacy, celebrating the full breadth of Parton's life while supporting her work that will keep making a difference for generations to come.
