Waymore’s Guest House Introduces Short Stories Café & Cocktails, the Hotel’s Revamped Lobby Café

Featuring new menus and community-focused energy and programming, this East Nashville favorite invites guests to gather, sip, and stay awhile.

NASHVILLE, TNWaymore's Guest House, East Nashville’s eclectic boutique hotel and home of Tall Tales Rooftop Bar, proudly announces the debut of Short Stories Café & Cocktails, a reimagining of the hotel’s lobby-level café and bar. With a refreshed food and beverage program and programming geared toward connecting the community, Short Stories is designed to serve as ‘East Nashville’s Living Room,’ where locals and travelers can meet, work, unwind, and imbibe.

“Short Stories is designed to complement the Tall Tales experience, which quickly became a go-to haunt for locals from happy hour to sunset and into the night,” said Food & Beverage Director Daniel Gorman. “This evolution of Waymore’s lobby space allows us to better serve as a daytime hub where connection and creativity can flourish. With Short Stories, we've thoughtfully curated new brunch and all day menus with elevated comfort dishes and seasonal bites for all day dining and cocktails.”

Located on the hotel’s ground floor, the light-filled and cozy café is open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. serving decadent and approachable dishes for brunch and handcrafted cocktails and elevated bar bites for mid to late-night dining. As one of Nashville’s few concepts open for daily brunch, Short Stories offers guests elevated morning sips from bottomless mimosas to a rich Coffee Negroni, as well as creative plates like the Apple Pie Parfait with stewed & fresh apples, yogurt, granola, and topped with caramel, Pork & Grits with slow roasted pork, cowboy sauce, pickled sweet peppers, cheddar, and green onion, Sweet Heat Grilled Cheese featuring local sourdough, 3-cheese blend, pepper jelly, and fresh apple, and more.

In addition to hosting daily happy hour from 5 p.m to 6 p.m., the flexible space also serves as a venue for creative pop-ups, where custom leather atelier X the Namesake recently debuted their collaboration with Nashville influencer Mary Whisenhunt Mettenberger with a pop-up shop and buzzy dinner. “The Midday Muse,” a monthly lunch series where locals, guests and industry peers will be invited into the space to speak on various timely topics such as "the art of the side hustle," "building a sustainable wellness routine" and "finding your creative voice,” will kick off January 2026.

Short Stories’ refreshed concept blends relaxed comfort with the creative spirit of East Nashville, and invites guests and locals to linger longer, collaborate, and soak in the energy of the neighborhood and Music City.
