Back Waiter - Sunda Nashville

General Overview

Back Waiters are responsible for setting, cleaning, and assisting servers in maintaining. Uses hospitality and graciousness in dealing with guests. Performs duties in a pleasant, conscientious, fun, energetic and professional manner to ensure guest satisfaction.

By seamlessly melding elevated cooking techniques and flavors found throughout Asia, Sunda’s extensive cross-cultural New Asian menu spans many cultural and culinary options, allowing guests to choose the dining experience they desire. Sunda also provides an impressive list of specialty cocktails, signature sakes, and a collection of popular wines to complement the cuisine. 

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Clears and reset tables as quickly as possible with correct spacing & settings
  • Communicate with Servers to ensure guest’s needs are accommodated
  • Checks for table setting completeness
  • Assists the server in table maintenance duties, such as plate changes, napkin folding, presetting glassware, pouring soy sauce, refreshing silverware, and wiping/crumbing tables, water service
  • Checks general dining area, tables, and chairs for cleanliness Maintains cleanliness and organization of service stations and service areas
  • Picks up debris and cleans any spills or grease on the floor
  • Assist Server in packing up any leftovers from guests Server to take lead from guest’s request as what needs to be packed and take home
  • Further duties not currently listed in this outline may be added at the manager’s discretion

Knowledge, Skills and Personal Attributes

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Well-organized with ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Possess strong work ethic and attention to detail

Education and Experience

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Previous restaurant experience preferred
  • Must complete Food Handlers and BASSET Certificate
  • Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking
  • Must be able to lift, balance, and carry trays of food weighing up to 30 pounds
