What's new for Nashville's Food Scene
In Music City, new restaurants are opening up all the time, and most places change their menu each season. It can be hard to keep up with all the new happenings in Nashville's growing food scene, but not any more. Now stay up to date with what restaurants are coming, just opened, now closed, and the latest menu updates.
The modern steakhouse Union Common has officially opened in Midtown. The menu heavily focuses on shared plates and meaty cuts. There are 16 selections of small plates, plenty of options for proteins from 16-ounce grilled lamb chops to 32-ounce rib eye, and plenty of seafood to enjoy.
The Flipside is the latest restaurant to the 12South neighborhood. The hours of operation will be from 11am until late, seven days a week.
It's official, Hattie B's will be expanding to a second location on Charlotte Pike. They plan on opening July 24 with more seating, additional parking, and plenty of beers on tap.
Flour. Sugar. Eggs
Popular Germantown bakery Flour. Sugar. Eggs. has opened a shop inside the Sweet CeCe's at Hill Center in Green Hills.
Padrino's Pops is now open at 4002c Granny White Pike across from Lipscomb University. The shop is offering Mexican-style paletas seven days a week.
Sinema, new restaurant led by Chicago transplant and "Top Chef" alum Dale Levitski, is now open at The Melrose on Franklin Pike. It is a sleek restaurant and bar housed in the historic Melrose theatre, offering an entire dining experience that hinges on impeccable service. Check out their website.
July 10 will be the grand opening of Nashville's newest restaurant on Broadway called ACME Feed & Seed. The restaurant will include three stories, and a roof top patio with a menu containing Southern cuisine classics like: Country Fried Chicken, ACME Hot Chicken Sandwich, Farmer's Fresh Catfish, and more. SMITH & LENTZ BREWING CO.
Nashville's SoBro district will receive a small-batch brewery in late 2014 named Smith & Lentz Brewing Co. The brewery would like to concentrate on brewing a variety of craft beers never focusing on a single flagship brew. GRAETER'S ICE CREAM
The acclaimed Graeter's Ice Cream might be making its way to Music City. Rich Graeter, CEO of Graeter's Ice Cream, stated he would like to open a total of 10 to 15 new locations with Nashville as one of his main targets. Read more from Nashville Eater.
Work has started for The Vine a new restaurant opening in East Nashville. The restaurant will feature American fare, including steaks and seafood, as well as focus on wine by the glass. Read more from Nashville Eater.
CLAWSON'S PUB & DELI
A new pub is set to open by early October in Nashville called Clawson's Pub & Deli. The restaurant will feature sandwiches and craft beer. It will be located at Chestnut Street and Fourth Avenue. Read more from Nashville Business Journal.
LOVE, PEACE, AND PHO
Currently under construction in the 8th Avenue South neighborhood is a new Vietnamese restaurant called Love, Peace, & Pho. They hope to have the restaurant opened by early September. THE PORTER HOUSE BISTRO
East Nashville restaurant Cafe Fundamental has closed their doors, however plans for a new restaurant are in the works. Chicago Chef Drew Byrant plans to reopen it as The Porter House Bistro. Read more from Nashville Eater.
Matter of Taste
A Matter of Taste plans to move from Franklin Pike in the Melrose Area to East Nashville. In addition to a new location, the store will have a new name, and expanded hours to include a dinner menu. Read more from The Tennessean.
