                            Belmont Mansion
Discover Belmont Mansion's unique and engaging past. Enjoy daily for guided tours through ornate rooms furnished in Victorian opulence and brimming with American history. Built in 1853, this Italian villa-style mansion was once owned by the wealthy and powerful Adelicia Acklen, whose prismatic stories of strength, perserverance and character during and after the Civil War justifiably make her Nashville's own steel magnolia. Accompanying her incredible story as one of American history's most notable leading ladies, the history of Belmont Mansion is equally intriguing, serving as headquarters for the Union army during the Civil War, a Girl's School during the Gilded Age and the site of Adelicia's numerous elaborate parties during the Victorian Era.
