Nashville is known for music. We are Music City, after all. Music plays here 24/7/365 so we can't list every concert, or music event, but here are a few of the major music festivals, concert series, and big summer concerts. And if you need more, check out our Upcoming Concerts.
Music Festivals & Events
Each year the Americana Music Association gathers thousands of artists, fans, and industry professionals from all over the world in Nashville. The festival will feature approximately 165 live music performances at 9 music venues from both established and emerging artists. Stay tuned for more information on the upcoming 2014 American Music Awards and Festival.

There is only one word to describe last year's Southern Ground Music & Food Festival: AMAZING! Presented by LandShark Lager, Zac Brown Band's ultimate sensory experience took place in Music City at The Lawn at Riverfront Park. The festival featured sets by artists such as Willie Nelson & Family, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Eli Young Band, Kenny Chesney, Jason Mraz and more! Get excited for this year's, and check back here often to see who will be playing.
Music City Roots is a weekly, two-hour live radio show and concert that revives the historic legacy of live musical radio production in Nashville. Broadcast on Wednesday nights from 7pm to 9pm, CT, Music City Roots showcases Nashville's astonishing music scene, from country and Americana to more progressive interpreters of tradition -- a "roots and branches" format that brings together fans of different tastes and generations. Music City Roots tapes live at the Factory at Franklin on Wednesday nights.
Cruise on in to Fontanel and enjoy the tons of custom cars and trucks parked for your viewing pleasure from 6-9pm. Live music will be played each night. Food, and beverages are available for purchase. It's a great time, and perfect for getting together for some good old-fashioned fun in Music City.
Enjoy live jazz music in the vineyard courtyard at Arrington Vineyards every Friday & Saturday 5-9pm, and Sunday 2-6pm. It's a beautiful setting for a summer night or afternoon. Listen to some jazz, take part in a complimentary wine tasting, have a picnic, and enjoy the scenery.

Under the light of the full moon, three headlining acts play the main stage while bluegrass and roots pickers jam in circles under the trees and around the grounds of the Percy Warner Park Equestrian Center from 7-11pm. These family-friendly events invite anyone to join in the music and all funds raised go to protect Warner Parks.
September 5, September 19
Live music is coming back to The Hermitage Hotel and Capitol Grille. On select Fridays from May through September, guests will be invited to enjoy drinks, food, and live music. The music series will feature the musical stylings of Sheriff Scott and the Deputies, an Americana band known for their hits Bartender and Marilyn Monroe.
September 20, October 4
Every summer, the legendary Bluebird Cafe travels to one of the tallest hilltops in Nashville to offer a night of live music under the stars. Hit songwriters play their best and your favorite songs on the portico of the Dyer Observatory from 8-10pm. After the performances, the telescope is opened for visitors to get a closer look at the stars in the night sky.
Last Friday of the month, June-August
Now in its 12th year, Frist Fridays offers live music outside in the courtyard at the Frist Center for the Visual Arts, from 6pm to 9pm. It's a great summer night out for music, art, and Music City. This year's lineup includes The Long Players, Marty Stuart, and The Super Tyrone Review (Super T).
August 28, September 4-6
Live On The Green is a free concert series at Public Square Park in downtown Music City. The stage is always set up on the steps of the Plaza and the crowd gathers in the grassy area of Public Square Park to watch performances from local, regional, and national artists. The music plays Thursday nights August 14-28, leading up to a free 3-day festival September 4-6. This year's lineup includes City and Colour, Cage the Elephant, Head & The Heart, and more.
Every Tuesday from August 12-October 7 the Nashville Public Library will host a free concert from 11:45am-1pm. The concerts will take place right in their courtyard. So grab some lunch and enjoy the weather while listening to some great live music.
