Darius Rucker Music City Walk of Fame Induction

Darius Rucker first rose to fame as the lead singer and rhythm guitarist of Hootie & the Blowfish, the Grammy-winning band behind the Double Diamond album Cracked Rear View, one of the top ten best-selling studio albums of all time. Since launching his solo Country career in 2008, Rucker has earned four No. 1 albums on the Billboard Country chart, 10 No. 1 singles, and more than a dozen Gold and Platinum certifications. His Diamond-certified version of “Wagon Wheel” remains one of the five best-selling Country songs in history and earned him a Grammy Award for Best Solo Country Performance.

A member of the Grand Ole Opry since 2012, Rucker continues to shape the genre with new music, including his recent single “Fires Don’t Start Themselves” and his album Carolyn’s Boy. He is also a dedicated philanthropist, helping raise hundreds of millions of dollars for causes ranging from children’s hospitals to education and junior golf through the Hootie & the Blowfish Foundation and his annual Darius & Friends fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Beyond music, Rucker serves as a National Chair for the National Museum of African American Music, is part of the Music City Baseball investment group, partners with MGC Sports & Entertainment, and has his own Fanatics apparel line, the Darius Rucker Collection.
