Miguel Alvarado 'State of the Saxophone: Branford Marsalis'

Join us for an electrifying evening honoring the artistry, innovation, original compositions, and unmistakable sounds of Branford Marsalis. From fiery post-bop explorations to deeply expressive ballads, this tribute captures the range and spirit of one of jazz's most dynamic modern voices.

Branford served as musical director for The Tonight Show Starring Jay Leno, bringing world-class jazz into millions of homes each night. He founded the Branford Marsalis Quartet in 1986, one of the most enduring and critically acclaimed working bands in jazz. And beyond jazz, he has collaborated with artists from Sting to the Grateful Dead and composed classical works performed by major orchestras.

Rudy's Jazz Room is Nashville's premier New Orleans-inspired jazz club — an intimate listening room known for its warm acoustics, craft cocktails, and close-up concert experience. With exposed brick, low lighting, and a true "music-first" atmosphere, it's the perfect setting to experience the power and nuance of live saxophone.

Come hang with us for an unforgettable night of inspired sound.
