ABOUT CHRIS ELDRIDGE & KRISTIN ANDREASSEN
Bringing together their deep musical heritage, Chris Eldridge and Kristin Andreassen are crafting songs that draw on their rich backgrounds in acoustic music. Eldridge, a Grammy winner known for his work with Punch Brothers, the Infamous Stringdusters, and Mighty Poplar, brings his lauded guitar playing to the project. Andreassen, a creative force known for her inventive songwriting (John Lennon Song Contest Grand Prize winner) and her work with old-time ensemble Uncle Earl, brings a unique approach shaped by years in the stringband world. Their individual strengths - including Eldridge's IBMA Guitar Player of the Year nominations and Americana Music Association's Instrumentalist of the Year award - combine to create something fresh in acoustic music.
Now, as new parents with more time at home, they're writing and recording new music together that weaves these influences into something distinctly their own.
ABOUT BEN GARNETT
For Ben Garnett, the acoustic guitar is naturally cinematic. "It has this ability to build a world for other instruments to inhabit," Garnett muses. His forthcoming album, Kite's Keep (2025), features artfully constructed compositions brought to life by acoustic music luminaries like Darol Anger, Brittany Haas (fiddle), Ethan Jodziewicz, Paul Kowert (bass), and Chris Eldridge (guitar). "My dream was to shine a light on these pervasive, yet often overlooked, abilities of the instrument; to demonstrate that a 'guitar record' can actually showcase the guitar as this world-building, ensemble instrument, rather than merely a lead instrument." Shifting its aperture from folk to bluegrass, pop to jazz, classical to avant-garde, Kite's Keep rarely settles into any one particular genre; rather, it relishes the in-between spaces, revealing its innovations not through spectacle, but through the quiet power of storytelling in motion.
"You think you've heard it all until Ben Garnett comes along to show us how much more there might be." — PREMIER GUITAR
"Garnett has a beautiful, curious, deep mind." — CHRIS ELDRIDGE (PUNCH BROTHERS)
