Since 1937, the Franklin Theatre has been the beating heart of Main Street — the spot where Middle Tennesseans first fell in love with movies, matinees, fresh popcorn, and each other (it's proudly the Home of First Kisses). When rising rents and the mega-theater era forced its doors shut in 2007, the community refused to let it go dark for good: the Heritage Foundation of Williamson County stepped in, investing more than $8 million over three years to bring the historic landmark back to life. Reopened in 2011 — and now the community's first LEED-certified historic restoration — The Franklin Theatre reemerged with a bigger mission, adding live music and world-class performing arts to its cherished movie-house roots. Today, this 300-seat Art Deco gem hosts 500+ events a year, from concerts and comedy to classic film screenings, all inside the same walls that have been making memories on Main Street for nearly a century. Come see why one visit here tends to turn into a lifelong tradition!
