Position Summary
Pinewood Social is seeking a talented and motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about food, leadership, and cultivating a positive, high-performing kitchen culture. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Culinary Director and Chef de Cuisine to oversee daily operations, ensure food quality and consistency, manage kitchen staff, and contribute to menu development.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the in all kitchen operations, including prep, service, and inventory management
- Lead by example in maintaining high culinary standards and a positive kitchen environment
- Supervise and mentor line cooks and prep staff, fostering growth and accountability
- Ensure all dishes meet quality and presentation standards
- Assist with scheduling, ordering, and vendor relationships
- Enforce health and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with all local and state regulations
- Contribute creative ideas for seasonal and rotating menus
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of kitchen leadership experience, preferably in a high-volume or upscale casual setting
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, kitchen equipment, and sanitation practices
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to read and understand labor and food costs
- Excellent communication and team management skills
- Passion for hospitality and dedication to quality and consistency
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
