The Lead Barista plays a key role in our coffee program, ensuring exceptional quality, consistency, and hospitality at the coffee bar. This role is hands-on, balancing daily barista responsibilities with training, coaching, and maintaining service standards. The Lead Barista supports management in developing the coffee team, upholding Pinewood Social’s values, and fostering a positive, guest-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Place weekly and as-needed orders for coffee and coffee bar supplies
- Maintain and uphold all coffee quality standards (including barista product knowledge, work flow, cleanliness, etc)
- Lead operational roll-out of new coffees, seasonal beverages, and specials
- Troubleshoot equipment and facilities issues on the coffee bar and escalate when needed
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the barista team during shifts
- Work five floor shifts per week, including at least one weekend day (exceptions to the weekend policy can be made upon request)
- Oversee end of month inventory
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of barista experience, with strong technical knowledge of coffee preparation and equipment.
- Previous leadership, shift lead, or trainer experience preferred.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and teamwork skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining composure and quality.
- Passion for hospitality enhancing our guests experiences and being an inspired leader.
