Position Summary

The Convention Sales Manager works to promote Music City as a premier meeting/convention destination in coordination with a regionally based sales team and local hotel community.  This is a full-time, Nashville-based office position.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

 Essential Functions

  • Strategically manage book of business to meet and exceed quarterly and annual assigned goals.
  • Work with community to support their efforts in booking short term, small market business.
  • Occasionally host site inspections for clients considering Nashville as a destination
  • Maintain accurate account files by updating the database with pertinent information regarding account and leads.
  • Demonstrate good judgement and act in a professional manner as an ambassador for the city and organization.

Desired Qualifications

  • Education- Bachelor’s Degree in hospitality, business, or related field
  • Licenses/Certifications- Valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, and successful completion of MVR
  • Skills Sales experience with a convention and visitors bureau, major hotel management company or association related business preferred, oral and written communication, exceptional customer relations, drive for results, problem solving skills and good computer skills.  High attention to detail.
  • Experience- Sales industry experience within the meeting/convention industry with either hotels, and/or convention centers & visitor bureaus    
  • Technology-based skillset-includes knowledge of Microsoft Office software programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, etc.) CRMs, expense reporting programs and other internal and external software prospecting resources.

Work Schedule/Hours

  • 40 hours weekly schedule with ability to work evenings and weekends as position duties require
  • Occasional travel as needed to participate in trade shows and sales missions
