FISK UNIVERSITY TO HOST SESQUICENTENNIAL SCHOLARSHIP GALA AT MUSIC CITY CENTER
Gala will feature performances by 5x GRAMMY® award winner Wynonna Judd and the Fisk Jubilee Singers®
Nashville, Tenn., April 1, 2016 - As part of a yearlong celebration, Fisk University will host its Sesquicentennial Scholarship Gala at the Music City Center on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 7:00pm. GRAMMY® award winning recording artist Wynonna Judd and the renowned Fisk Jubilee Singers® will perform during the gala. Actress and Fisk Alumna Kym Whitley will serve as Mistress of Ceremony for the event. Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Eugene Robinson will serve as Keynote Speaker for the event.
“Our Sesquicentennial Gala marks 150 years of Excellence for Fisk University. In recent months, we have celebrated our remarkable 150-year history in many ways and have been grateful for the outpouring of support and congratulatory offerings we have received from the community and the many Friends of Fisk.,” said Frank L. Sims, president of Fisk University. “Thanks to the support of individuals, businesses, and many private organizations, we are able to ensure that future Fiskites are able to fund their education.”
