Southern Festival of Books: A Celebration of the Written Word
War Memorial Plaza & Main Public Library
October 11-13, 2019
Free and open to the public
Oh to escape into the wonderful world of books. Over the years, we each grow a deep passion for the authors behind our favorite stories who seem to know us without any introduction. The Southern Festival of Books: A Celebration of the Written Word offers the opportunity to meet some of your favorite storytellers with 3 days of readings, panel discussions, and book signings at War Memorial Plaza and Nashville's Main Public Library.
The 2018 Authors
The 2018 authors included Tayari Jones, Celeste Ng, Kelly Oliver, Mike Mullin, Rebecca Makkai, and tons more. See the full list. Stay tuned for the 2019 list of attending authors!
Children's and young adult authors
The children's and young adult programs at the festival are great opportunities for librarians, educators, and parents to seek and find the newest releases in all genres, old favorites, and hot discussion topics. All ages will find something they love at the Southern Festival of Books. Learn more about the 2018 programs.
Authors in the Round Dinner
Up to 40 authors will sit down with fans for a nice dinner during the Annual Authors in the Round Dinner. The evening begins with cocktails under the stars in the courtyard of War Memorial Auditorium, followed by dinner where each table is paired with a different author and a copy of their book for guests to take home. A portion of each ticket purchase is tax-deductible and all proceeds benefit the Southern Festival of Books. Find information on tickets.
