BRUNCH HEATS UP WITH PARTY FOWL’S NASHVILLE HOT BLOODY MARY MIX
Tennessee-based restaurant group teams up with Walker Feed Co. to produce the first-ever Bloody Mary mix blended with Nashville Hot Chicken spices
(NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE) May 31, 2017 – The team behind Party Fowl, a booming Nashville Hot Chicken restaurant that recently announced a second location to open in 2018, has decided to enter the world of retail with its new Party Fowl Nashville Hot Bloody Mary Mix. Partnering with Music City-based cocktail mixer brand, Walker Feed Co., Party Fowl has created the market’s first Nashville Hot Bloody Mary mix.
“I’ve dreamed about producing a Nashville Hot Bloody Mary mix for a long time,” says Party Fowl owner Austin Smith. “It was a no-brainer when the opportunity to work with Kristin Walker and her product came about. We are huge fans of the Walker brand to begin with, and are so grateful they’re allowing us to become a part of their family.”
Smith is proud to say that Walker’s Southern Bloody Mary Mix has been the restaurant’s house Bloody Mary mix since opening day, and was thrilled when Kristin Walker, co-founder of Walker Feed Co. agreed to collaborate on the project.
The mix offers the perfect balance of flavor guaranteed to satisfy any spicy Bloody Mary aficionado. Party Fowl executive chef Bart Pickens lends his Nashville Hot Chicken spice blend to Walker’s Southern Bloody Mary, which features bourbon barrel-aged Worcestershire, blackstrap molasses and creole mustard.
“The smoked paprika, habanero blend, cayenne and chili powder that are in my hot chicken spices intensify the spice level that is already indigenous to the flavor profile that Walker’s Southern Bloody Mary already offers,” says Pickens. “Walker’s uses real tomato juice in their product instead of adding water and diminishing the flavor like some other products on the market do. You can tell in the texture that it is the real deal.”
Starting June 1, the mix will be available in 750 ML bottles to purchase for $9.99 at the 8th Ave. restaurant, with plans to expand retail distribution through Athens Distributing Company. The mix can also be purchased through the Walker Feed Co. online shop starting the first of June.
"We are excited to partner with Party Fowl on Nashville's first and only hot chicken-style Bloody Mary mix. When the idea was presented, we knew we couldn't go wrong because Party Fowl's hot chicken spice is the perfect complement to the original Walker's Southern Bloody Mary Mix,” says Walker. “We are always asked if we have a spicier version of Walker's. Well, here you go hot chicken and Bloody Mary fans!"
The restaurant plans to incorporate the mix into its nationally praised brunch menu, using it for regular Bloody Marys as well as the Brunch for Two, a whimsical 55-ounce Bloody Mary topped with two Nashville Hot Cornish game hens, avocado, okra, Scotch eggs and more.
