GAME DATE, TIME SET FOR 2017 FRANKLIN AMERICAN MORTGAGE MUSIC CITY BOWL
20th annual game will be held on December 29th at Nissan Stadium
NASHVILLE, Tenn., (May 11, 2017) – Nashville’s Holiday Tradition, the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl, has been set for Friday, Dec. 29th at 3:30 p.m. CST at Nissan Stadium. The game will be televised on ESPN, the Bowl’s television partner since its inception. This year’s game will represent the 20th game in the Bowl’s history.

The 20th annual Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl will represent the fourth year of a six-year agreement featuring the extended partnership between the Southeastern Conference (SEC) against the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) or Big Ten Conference in Nashville. As announced in July 2014, the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl and TaxSlayer Bowl have agreed to share selections with the Big Ten Conference and ACC to provide an opponent to the SEC through 2019. The 2016 game between Nebraska and Tennessee represented the Big Ten’s first appearance in the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl as part of this six-year agreement.

ESPN has served as the Bowl’s television partner since its inception in 1998 and will televise the Bowl again this year as part of a 12-year agreement which began in 2014.
Last year’s Bowl game between the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Tennessee Volunteers was played on Friday, December 30th, 2016 in front of a sellout crowd of 68,496. The Volunteers defeated the Cornhuskers 38-24, with the game posting a 3.1 HH rating on ESPN and averaging more than 5 million viewers. Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl representatives recently announced that the 2016 contest produced $22.2M in direct economic impact for the city of Nashville with an additional $18.3M in value via media exposure.
Renewals for 2017 season ticket holders began in January and will run through June 30th. Tickets for this year’s game will go on sale to the general public on September 1st.
