Lennon and Maisy Stella to Headline Nashville’s New Year’s Eve Family Hour
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lennon and Maisy Stella, the real-life sisters and internet sensations who play Connie Britton’s daughters on ABC’s “Nashville,” will headline the New Year’s Eve “Bash on Broadway” Family Hour presented by Twice Daily, the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corporation (NCVB) announced today. New this year, the Family Hour will offer live music from the young stars, a raising of the music note, fireworks and discounted non-alcoholic beverages from 7 to 8 p.m.
“As we continue to grow this event, it was important to add an element that appealed more to families,” said Butch Spyridon, president and CEO of the NCVB. “Lennon and Maisy are true Nashville stars – both the city and the show – and are a natural fit for our inaugural Family Hour.”
Nashville’s signature music note will be raised to mark the beginning of the Family Hour. The 15-foot-tall red music note -- covered in more than 150 feet of LED lights -- will be raised to the top of a 115-foot structure, triggering a fireworks display arranged by Pyro Shows. A musical performance by Lennon and Maisy Stella will precede the raising of the note.
The Family Hour will also offer interactive display booths and product samplings from sponsors and partners on Second Avenue, including presenting sponsor Twice Daily which will provide free samples of the fresh food offered in their Middle Tennessee stores.
"As a locally owned, family business, Twice Daily and Tri Star Energy are very excited to be a partner on the ground floor of the New Year's Eve Family Hour in the most amazing city in the country” said Tom Woodard, Director of Communications for Tri Star Energy. “We are so proud to call Nashville home."
In addition to Twice Daily’s offerings, McDonald’s will provide samples of hot chocolate and Coca-Cola® will offer family activities at the Coca-Cola Refreshment Vehicle, an interactive unit where fans may engage in Wii, Corn Hole, Touch Screen Games, a photo booth and samples of Coca-Cola products.
Later in the evening, Grammy®-nominated piano rock group The Fray will headline, with additional performances by Nashville-based Sixpence None the Richer, CMA-nominated country duo Love and Theft, and Nashville newcomers Striking Matches. Revelers attending the fourth annual Music City “Bash on Broadway” will count down to the New Year with the “Music Note Drop®,” triggering a fireworks display and major confetti cannons as it reaches the midnight mark.
Sponsors of this year’s event include Advance Financial 24/7, McDonald’s, Carl Black Chevrolet, Old Hickory Credit Union, Grand Avenue the official transportation provider of the event, Renaissance Nashville Hotel, Travelocity, Miller Lite, Coors Light, el Jimador Tequila, Jack Daniel’s, Coca-Cola, and The Governor’s Highway Safety Office: Booze It & Loose It.
