Gaylord Opryland Resort presents jungle-inspired summer
SummerFest brings Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book to life in Nashville
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 2016)—Gaylord Opryland Resort invites visitors to enjoy a memorable Nashville vacation with its SummerFest celebration inspired by Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book.
Taking place May 27 through Sept. 5, 2016, SummerFest offers access to all of the resort’s amenities, including live entertainment, poolside play and delicious dining, plus an array of family-friendly events and activities based on the short stories of Mowgli, a boy surviving in the wild jungles of India.
Teeming with subtropical plant life and multi-story waterfalls, Gaylord Opryland Resort’s three giant atriums set the stage for adventure. Visitors will feel as if they are stepping into the pages of Kipling’s timeless coming-of-age fables with themed events for children and adults.
Ticketed events include Mowgli’s Mission Scavenger Hunt, an interactive scavenger hunt throughout the resort; Jungle Riverboat Cruises on the resort’s ¼-mile-long indoor river; and Guided Hotel & Garden Tours through the resort’s nine acres of indoor gardens.
Culinary events include Junior Chef Camps conducted by the hotel’s award-winning executive chefs as well as Sundae Sundays at Delta Delight Frozen Yogurt, S’mores Please at Cascades American Café, and Refillable Icees at the outdoor pools.
SummerFest has adults ages 21 and up covered too with Margarita Madness at Solario Cantina; Whiskey Flights at Findley’s Irish Pub; Old-Fashioned Happy Hour at The Library Lounge; Bites & Flights at Conservatory Wine Bar; Corona Ritas and Build-Your-Own Bloody Mary at Fuse Sports Bar and Build-Your-Own Bellini at The Falls Bar.
SummerFest also features an array of FREE activities, including the all-new “Sounds of Summer” Fountain Show, animal encounters, family movie nights and the SoBe Splash Party—a poolside experience filled with music, games, contests and more. In addition, junior golfers ages 15 and under can play one free round for each full-paying adult accompanying them after 1 p.m. at Gaylord Springs Golf Links.
During SummerFest, the Nashville hotel’s local and overnight visitors can also enjoy more than a dozen award-winning restaurants inside the resort. The resort’s 27,000-square-foot European-inspired Relâche Spa will offer summer spa specials, while the resort’s 13 unique retail shops provide a variety of shopping opportunities.
Of course, a trip to Music City wouldn’t be complete without great music. Live stage music may be found at nightly at select resort restaurants as well as The Opry Backstage Grill, located next door at The Inn at Opryland, and a short shuttle drive away at the resort’s world-famous Wildhorse Saloon in downtown Nashville.
Steps from the resort, guests can explore the home to country music’s most famous show—the Grand Ole Opry, as well as the General Jackson Showboat, one of the largest showboats in the U.S., and Opry Mills—Tennessee’s largest outlet and value-retail shopping destination.
