Dabble Studio to Host Hawai'ian-Filipino Pop-Up Dinner with Guest Chef Sophia Agtarap of Ate's Nashville
Dabble Studio, a recreational painting and cooking studio in downtown Nashville’s Germantown area, is hosting a one-night pop-up dinner with guest chef Sophia Agtarap of Ate's Nashville on Saturday, July 16, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. After selling out a Filipino pop-up dinner in April and seeing the demand for quality, authentic Filipino food in Nashville, Dabble and Ate's decided to team up again for a one-night only special event.
The night's menu will feature Ahi Tuna Poke and Lumpia starters, followed by Adobe-Glazed Chicken Wings with Jasmine Rice. Dessert will be a trio of Tropical Fruit Tarts with hand-whipped cream. All food will be prepared by Chef Sophia and will combine unique Filipino and Hawai'ian spices and flavors with locally sourced ingredients Each course will be paired with festive cocktails hand-picked by Dabble's chef, Jamie Fritz.
Sophia Agtarap is a self-taught chef and owner of Ate's (pronounced "Ah-TEY's," meaning "older sister" in Filipino) Nashville food project and catering. She draws from the flavorful meals her family made growing up in the Philippines and throughout the United States. Though her food is distinctly Filipino, you'll find nods to Hawai'ian, Japanese, Korean and Mexican cuisines throughout her dishes. Chef Sophia has brought her Filipino specialties to events and markets around Nashville, including the Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival, the Celebrate Nashville Cultural Festival, and the Nolensville Farmers' Market.
