Local Printmaker/Mixed Media Artist Carrie Cox’s New Show Then Again, Opens March 17 at Turnip Green Creative Reuse’s Green Gallery
NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE (March 7, 2016) – The Green Gallery at Turnip Green Creative Reuse (TGCR) presents Then Again,: An Art Opening from Platetone Printmaking Paper and Book Arts member, Carrie Cox. The opening takes place March 17 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 535 4th Ave. South, Nashville, TN 37210. This community event is free, open to the public and features the opening gallery reception, an Open Studio at Platetone, snacks and drinks. The show will be on display in the Green Gallery through April 19.
Cox is a printmaker and mixed media artist, residing in Nashville, TN. Growing up in an artistic family; Carrie was exposed to many crafts including woodworking, quilting and knitting, which influence her work today. She holds an Associate of Science degree in graphic design from Daytona Beach College and is a graduate of Stetson University where she received her BA in Fine Arts. For Then Again, she allowed abstract and study of line, shape and color to add a three-dimensional feel by layering, folding and stitching her pieces.
While preparing for Then Again, all materials had to be either sourced from the paper and collection of objects already in her studio, the repurposing of existing works, or items found at Turnip Green Creative Reuse. With the exception of installation needs, no “new” materials could be purchased.
Her works can be viewed at http://www.carriecoxstudio.com
