Nashville to host two day extravaganza to celebrate the 2015 SI Swimsuit Launch

NEW YORK, NY/NASHVILLE, TN (1.8.15) – Time Inc.’s Sports Illustrated and the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp (NCVC) will partner to produce an unprecedented two-days of fan events and musical performances in celebration of the 2015 SI Swimsuit launch, it is announced today. Headlining the festivities - scheduled for February 11 and 12 - will be a concert from Music City’s own Kings of Leon set for the Schermerhorn Symphony Center on February 11. Also on tap will be musical performances from emerging Nashville artists of all genres which taking place at “Swimville” on Nashville’s Famous Lower Broadway. SI Swimsuit is set for launch February 9 and on hand for the entire Nashville celebration will be the cast of the 2015 production.
The SI/NCVC partnership brings together a staple of American popular culture with one of America’s great cities in a union of food, fashion, celebrity, sports, travel and, of course, music. This initiative represents the first collective series of consumer-facing events produced on behalf of the Swimsuit franchise. The “Swimville” fan experience will be free and open to the public including all of the musical performances. There fans will also see SI Swimsuit come-to-life through activities, showcases and model appearances. A limited number of tickets for the Kings of Leon concert, with opening artist Mikky Ekko, will go on sale to the public through the Symphony Hall box office.

The Nashville events series will be a cornerstone of the 2015 SI Swimsuit launch with the cross-platform debut in print, digital, mobile and across social media is scheduled for February 9. Sports illustrated also announced a special partnership with The Travel Channel to produce a five-part series.
“SI: The Making of Swimsuit 2015”, which debuts February 15. A staple of the annual entertainment calendar, Swimsuit is one of the great enterprises in media that reaches more than 70MM adults including more - 18-34 year olds than the Super Bowl - through its platforms and extensions.
