Community and corporate leaders to participate as city prepares to host Mexican National Team U.S. Tour for the first-time ever
Nashville (Wednesday, July 27, 2016) – Nashville Mayor Megan Barry, along with Tennessee Titans President and CEO Steve Underwood and representatives from the Federación Mexicana de Futbol, and Soccer United Marketing, will host a news conference on Monday, August 1, to announce the rival, kickoff time and presenting sponsor for the October 8 Mexican National Team U.S. Tour match – the first time the popular annual tour has visited Nashville.
The game in “Music City USA” will serve as an important tune-up for Mexico, who will look to prepare its squad for November CONCACAF World Cup qualifying contests. With the Nashville game being played during an official FIFA fixture window, the team is expected to field a top roster, including European-based players.

The 2016 Mexican National Team U.S. Tour, sponsored by adidas, Allstate Insurance Company, AT&T, Bud Light, Cheetos, Coca-Cola, el Jimador, Makita, Nissan, POWERADE, The Home Depot, and Wells Fargo, visits five cities across the United States, and will be broadcast nationally on the Univision family of networks, FS1, and Fútbol de Primera Radio Network.
