July 4th Celebration Offers Fun for the Whole Family
Enjoy the Family Fun Zone, Free Music and Largest Fireworks Display in City’s History
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – This year’s Music City: July 4th “Let Freedom Sing” is sure to offer entertainment for every member of the family with the Family Fun Zone and two days of free music and fireworks, the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp (NCVC) announced today. More than 26,000 firework shells will light up the Nashville sky on July 4th, making it the longest and largest fireworks display in the city’s history.
The festivities will kick off at noon with the free McDonald’s Family Fun Zone, featuring inflatables and games for all ages until 5 p.m. at a new location – on the top of the hill at the south end of The Lawn at Riverfront Park. McDonald’s will also offer free smoothie samples, and families may replenish with free water fountains and misting stations from Twice Daily. Event sponsors will also offer interactive displays, free samples, games and more.
This year’s July 4th fireworks display, arranged by Pyro Shows, Inc and choreographed to music played by the Nashville Symphony Orchestra, will run 26 minutes, making it the longest in the city’s history and the largest in the South. The show will include more than 26,000 firework shells, totaling more than 14,000 lbs. (7 tons). Pyro Shows will use 24-10” shells and 120-8’’ shells and new effects from LP Field, setting the stage for a more spectacular show. The display site is more than 1,000 feet long, and it will take 10 men six days to build the show.
The July 4th fireworks show will take place at approximately 9:50 p.m., immediately following the official concert headlined by Republic Nashville’s Platinum-selling family trio,The Band Perry, at the Lawn at Riverfront Park. The show, which will begin at approximately 7 p.m., will also feature GRAMMY®-winning blues musician Keb’Mo’, local rising duo Striking Matches and the Grammy®-winning Nashville Symphony Orchestra led by Associate Conductor Kelly Corcoran.

Kroger Stores in Middle and Eastern Tennessee feature a Dr Pepper display highlighting the event festivities and a text-to-win code. Dr Pepper will be on site at the event offering Corn Hole games and samples of Dr Pepper TEN.
