MICHELIN STAR CHEF CHRISTOPHER ANDERSON LANDS AT HUTTON HOTEL’S 1808 GRILLE
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — (June 6, 2017) – Nashville’s Hutton Hotel is pleased to announce that Chef Christopher Anderson will assume the role of Executive Chef at 1808 Grille and oversee all culinary aspects within the property. Chef Anderson earned his acclaim working at Chicago’s very best restaurants; Alinea, L2O, and earning his own Michelin Star at Moto (Chicago), as the first chef to earn a star with a southern influenced tasting menu, styled to bring comfort and approachability to by combining memory inducing familiar flavors together with masterful technique, unique ingredients, and exquisite plating.
“As Nashville’s culinary scene positions itself among national heavy hitters, it’s only appropriate that [Hutton] enlist the extraordinary talents of Chef Chris Anderson. We believe Hutton Hotel will be the perfect platform for Chris to showcase and further his virtuosity and are certain he will be a warmly welcomed addition to Music City cuisine,” says Jonathan Bartlett, General Manager at Hutton Hotel.
Born and raised in Washington, North Carolina, Anderson fostered a true love for southern cuisine. His passion for food continued developing, as a “country boy,” became exposed to farms, new ingredients, and refined techniques. This led him to attend the International Culinary School at the Art Institute. After graduation, he traveled to live and study in Lyon, France. While abroad he worked at the coveted 2 Michelin Star restaurant Auberge de L’Ile under Chef Jean-Christophe Ansanay-Alex. After returning home from Europe, Anderson continued to push the limits of his culinary craft landing at cutting-edge Michelin-starred restaurants; Moto, Alinea and L2O in Chicago.
Considered one of the best restaurants in the world, Alinea has been ranked on the San Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurants since 2007. Alinea carries the highest rating of 3 Michelin stars. Likewise, L2O was awarded 2 Michelin stars in the 2013 and 2014 guides and received Wine Spectator’s Best of Award of Excellence. When Anderson was offered Executive Chef at Moto, he reinvented the entire menu and wine pairings almost immediately. Seven months after taking the helm, Anderson lead Moto to another Michelin Star with a completely new concept and menu, built around Southern-spirited highbrow fare. Last year, Anderson was named executive chef at SO•PA Restaurant at L’Horizon Resort & Spa in Palm Springs.
Chef Anderson, thrilled join the Hutton team said, “Food brings people together, passion ignites them, and when the experience is perfect, memories are made. I want to tap into that, I want to bring the very best in local products and flavors to blow people’s minds.
I want the WOW moment, I want people to remember what it was like to have their mother cook for them, and I want to help people to live in that moment even if it’s only a bite long.”
