Throughout its history, Love Heals has been the unifying principle behind the work of Thistle Farms. This message will be now be shared musically with new audiences by recording artist, and son of Thistle Farms Founder Becca Stevens, Levi Hummon. "Love Heals," was inspired by the organization and features vocals by Hummon and bluegrass-country singer, Alison Krauss—the most awarded female single in Grammy history. The song was written by Hummon, his father—Grammy award-winning songwriter Marcus Hummon—as well as songwriter Tom Douglas.
Comments Hummon, “Love Heals is the message my mom preached to me and my brothers, it’s the melody my dad sang to me, it’s the story of the women who came off the streets and in turn helped raise me." Continues his mother, Stevens: “Since its very beginning, Thistle Farms has always been a family affair for my husband and sons. Everyone at Thistle Farms is proud of Levi, and we are truly grateful this song will help us spread a message we witness daily in our community: that love is the strongest force for change in the world.”
“Love Heals” releases on Iconic Entertainment Records to all digital retail and streaming services on Friday, January 26. A video filmed at The Café at Thistle Farms, featuring graduates of the program, premieres February 2, 2018.
“We have been fans of Thistle Farms for years, and this song really encapsulates the heart of the community. Love heals is a great message for our times.”
