PASTARIA TO HOST PIZZA TAKEOVERS WITH CROSSOVERS CHEFS FROM NASHVILLE & ST. LOUIS
James Beard winner Gerard Craft gathers friends to cook in the respective sister location of Pastaria for special one-night only menus
NASHVILLE (February 26, 2018) – James Beard winner Gerard Craft (Pastaria, Sardella, Taste Bar, Brasserie by Niche and Porano Pasta) announces a special chef pop-up series at his approachable Italian concept Pastaria Nashville (8 City Blvd. Nashville, TN 37209) and Pastaria (7734 Forsyth Blvd, Clayton, MO 63105) with the Gateway-Music City Crossover Pizza Takeovers.
Chef Craft has assembled an all-star team of Nashville and St. Louis chefs to travel to each other’s cities to cook at the sister Pastaria location for a special one-night only menu. Craft plans to host one pizza takeover pop-ups a month at each location: one St. Louis chef in Nashville and one Nashville chef in St. Louis.
The series kicks off in March with a trip to St. Louis for James Beard Best Chef: Southeast semifinalist Andy Little of Nashville’s Josephine on Wednesday, March 7. James Beard winner Kevin Nashan of Sidney Street Cafe and Peacemaker Lobster & Crab travels to Nashville a week later for his own pizza takeover at Pastaria Nashville on Tuesday, March 13.
Chef Craft explains, “I’ve made a lot of great chef friends already in my short time in Nashville, and the pizza takeovers are a great opportunity to showcase the talented chefs in both St. Louis and Nashville. They’ll also highlight their hometown city’s local ingredients and specialties (see below of Nashville Hot Scrapple and Gooey Butter Cake Gelato). As someone who makes the drive between the two cities very frequently, I hope that the pop-ups encourages Nashville folks to make a trip to check out our food scene in St. Louis and vice versa.” He further jokes, “And selfishly, I want a co-pilot buddy for some of the drives!”
