About This Spot
Serving up bona fide Cajun and Creole cuisine in Brooklyn, New York and Nashville, Tennessee, The Gumbo Bros is a New Orleans-style eatery with authentic New Orleans flair. Founder, Adam Lathan weaves the heart and soul of The Big Easy into the experience at The Gumbo Bros and is committed to authenticity by serving the freshest, highest-quality product. They source fresh po’boy bread from Leidenheimer Bakery in New Orleans, fly seafood straight from the Gulf, and even crafted an expansive bar from wood that Lathan’s father, a contractor and preservationist, salvaged from the Port of New Orleans. At both locations, you can expect to experience the full spirit of Louisiana as The Gumbo Bros offers a gathering place for game days, oyster happy hour, crawfish boils, and jazz brunches. As locals and tourists alike line up for their homemade 14-hour cooked gumbos and po’boy sandwiches, they have received booming reviews from the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Today Show, New York Magazine, and three stars from Eater’s food-critic Robert Sietsema.
