St. Jude Rock 'N' Roll Nashville Marathon & 1/2 Marathon
April 26-29, 2018
Through the streets of Music City
Each year, more than 30,000 runners, wheelchairs, and walkers attempt the annual St. Jude Rock 'N' Roll Nashville Marathon & 1/2 Marathon through the streets of Music City lined with 28 stages as live bands perform the soundtrack of the day.
For two days prior to the race, April 26 & 27, the free Health & Fitness Expo will take over the Music City Center. The Expo is open to the public but it's also where marathoners pick up their race number, swag bag, and t-shirt. Exhibitors will be onsite offering free samples, showcasing running gear, sports apparel, health and nutritional information, and more. Check out the Expo details.
The 1 Mile dash starts in downtown Nashville on Thursday, April 26. Last year, the course took runners from Deaderick, past Public Square Park, and along 1st Avenue and Riverfront Park, to finish at Ascend Amphitheater. Participants receive a Technical Participant T-Shirt, Gear Bag, Finisher Medal, Admission to the Health & Fitness Expo, and a Beer(!) at the Finish Line Festival. Register for the 1 Mile.
At 6:45am, on Saturday, April 28, the first steps of the race are taken by participants in the 5K. And just 30 minutes later, at 7:15am, wheelchairs, runners, and walkers start the 26.2-mile Marathon and 13.1-mile 1/2 Marathon trek through Music City. Last year, routes took participants from Lower Broadway to Nissan Stadium, through Nashville neighborhoods like 12South, Belmont, and Downtown, passing by landmarks such as the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, Frist Center for the Visual Arts, Schermerhorn Symphony Center, First Tennessee Park, Sevier Park, and more. All along the way, cheer squads line the streets to encourage racers. And to keep up the pace, live bands play on stages throughout the course, sending out music of every beat, from jazz and blues, to rock and country. Register to run the marathon.
All finishers get an Official Race T-Shirt, Gear Bag, Finisher's Medal and Certificate, and admission to the Finish Line Festival and Post-Race Concert that night.
