The Southern Festival of Books celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2008. This free, 3-day festival celebrates the written word with readings, panel discussions and book signings. The 2008 event welcomes more than 250 authors from across the nation. Book lovers can meet some of America's foremost writers in fiction, history, mystery, biography, travel, poetry and children's literature. The festival also offers live music, cooking demonstrations and children's entertainment.
Authors scheduled to attend the 20th anniversary event include Robert Hicks, Janis Ian, Les Kerr, Billie Lett, Frederick & Patricia McKissack, Ann Patchett, Richard Price and hundreds more.
