Omni Nashville Hotel

Omni Nashville Hotel operates as the headquarter hotel for the Music City Center, Nashville’s new downtown convention center. The $250 million 21-story hotel features 800 guest rooms and 54 suites and more than 80,000 square feet of meeting and event space and integrates on three levels with the expanded Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. The Omni Nashville Hotel’s design and décor, culinary, lifestyle, and retail venues stem from and are reflective of Nashville. The hotel boasts several restaurants, bars and lounges, as well as retail space, a pool, fitness center, and a Mokara signature spa – all in keeping with the strong cultural persona of Music City. The four dining options include Bob’s Steak & Chop House (fine-dining), Bongo Java (local coffeehouse), Kitchen Notes (complete with a biscuit bar), and live music venue Barlines (honky tonk).
There is underground parking for 660 vehicles. The groundbreaking was held in June of 2011 and the hotel opened on September 30, 2013.
Homewood Suites by Hilton Nashville Vanderbilt

The 192-room hotel features suites with full kitchens and living areas, and is located on West End across the street from Vanderbilt University. Original artwork reflects the history of the location where the hotel was built (a Packard car dealership used to be where the hotel is now located).
Hyatt Place Nashville Downtown

A new Downtown Hyatt Place has opened on Third Avenue in the heart of the city’s SoBro District. The 255-room, 13-story hotel includes 3,600 square feet of meeting space and a 175-space parking garage. The hotel’s lobby includes the Hyatt Place brand’s signature food and beverage options, including The Gallery, a 24-hour, full bar serving wine, beer, spirits, and coffee.
The 404 Hotel

Retail developer Mark Banks describes the five-room boutique hotel and restaurant he created from a former mechanics garage as an "urban hideout." The hotel is designed to offer travelers an alternative to large or mid-size hotels, offering what he calls "invisible service" led by one onsite manager. The idea is to let guests feel less like tourists and more immersed in the city. Each room has king beds including a loft living area connected by a winding staircase. Located in front of the hotel is The 404 Kitchen that is charmingly intimate, seats 40, and features locally-grown produce and herbs.
The Inn at Fontanel: A Luxury Boutique Hotel

Inspired by Middle Tennessee farmhouse style and built to look as if it has always been there, you will find no other luxury hotel as warm and welcoming as The Inn at Fontanel. As part of Southern Living’s 24-year tradition of building an annual Idea House in the south, Fontanel was the chosen site. It has been transformed from the 2013 Southern Living Idea House to a highly acclaimed Luxury Boutique Hotel that opened for business February 7, 2014.
Home2 Suites Nashville

A Hilton-brand hotel has opened its doors in Nashville’s Midtown neighborhood. The 66,000-square-foot Home2 Suites includes 119 rooms over seven stories. The hotel contains several sustainable components such as dual-flush toilets, lobby accent walls produced from recycled materials, energy-efficient lighting, and high-efficiency windows. Home2 Suites shares the parking garage with the current Hilton Garden Inn at Vanderbilt.
Courtyard by Marriott Nashville Green Hills

Nashville’s Green Hills neighborhood has a new hotel. The $23 million, 123-room Courtyard Marriott is located next to The Mall at Green Hills. The brick and stone, three-story property boasts will boast lobby ceilings nearly 18-feet high. The restaurants and shopping around the hotel will be an added amenity for the property.
Fairfield Inn & Suites Nashville Downtown/The Gulch
901 Division St.
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification will be given to the new hotel construction in the Gulch. The hotel, located on Division Street across from Yazoo Brewing Co., will rise eight stories, contain 126 rooms and suites, and have an attached parking garage. Projected to open September 2014, it has been designed to complement the contemporary and slightly industrial feel of The Gulch and will feature rooftop meeting space that will offer panoramic views of the Nashville skyline.
Residence Inn Nashville Vanderbilt/West End

Opening summer 2014, Residence Inn by Marriott offers 150 spacious suites with full kitchen and separate areas for sleeping, working, eating, and relaxing.
Holiday Inn Resort Lodge at Fontanel Mansion

A 140-room Holiday Inn resort will be added to the Fontanel property that once was home to country music legend Barbara Mandrell. When the hotel is complete, the capital investment could top $75 million. The resort will feature eight lodges wrapped around the Fontanel mansion. The project will begin construction in 2014.
Hilton Garden Inn Nashville Downtown

Chartwell Company will build a $38-million, 11-story Hilton Garden Inn that is projected to open June 2015. The 215-room hotel is one of downtown’s next big high rise hotels that will capitalize on its location by focusing on its panoramic views.
Eighth Ave. and Demonbreun St.
A 400-room, $120-million Marriott Hotel is proposed at the corner of Eighth Avenue and Demonbreun Street. The Marriott Hotel will be located across from the Music City Center.
Residence Inn and SpringHill Suites by Marriott
Fifth Ave. and Korean Veterans Blvd.
Construction on these two hotels is proposed in two phases at the Fifth Avenue South and Korean Veterans Boulevard intersection. Phase I, the Residence Inn by Marriott, is projected to be completed in 2015. Residence Inn will be a 14-story, 200-room hotel with a four-level above-ground structured parking garage to accommodate about 200 vehicles. Phase II will be completed in the spring 2017 to include a 150-room SpringHill Suites by Marriott. Fronting Fifth Avenue and rising 11 stories, the SpringHill Suites will be built on top of the 250-space parking garage, making it a 16-story structure. Once completed, the two hotels and garage will offer 350 rooms and 250 vehicle spaces within an L-shaped configuration. They will be located catty-corner from the Music City Center convention facility.
Eighth Ave. S.
A one-acre site, that includes the former Cokesbury bookstore across from the Music City Center and an adjacent parking lot, has been purchased for $8.2 million to develop a 400-room Westin hotel. Design is underway for a project that includes a Westin hotel, retail space, and other uses.
Loews Vanderbilt Hotel

Loews Vanderbilt has undergone a $17-million renovation, which includes a new restaurant and bar, rebuilt corridors, lobby space, and guest and public bathrooms. Using local music, fashion, and food as design inspiration, the hotel features a sleek, modern style with vintage inspiration. Mason Bar and Mason’s restaurant has a “Southern brasserie feeling…with a French influence.” Mason Bar has a video wall and wiring capabilities that allow musicians to “plug and play.”
Hotel Indigo Nashville Downtown

Hotel Indigo recently underwent a $5-million renovation and expansion that gives it additional guest rooms and a redesigned lobby, meeting room space, restaurant, and bar. The renovation added 33 additional guest rooms, for a total of 130. The remodeled hotel also features a redesigned restaurant; the former 315 Grille is now open as The District Bar and Kitchen. The new name draws inspiration from the former printing district that once surrounded the property. The lobby has the feel of a speakeasy, and features large murals illustrating that period in the city’s history. A wall designed to look like the letter blocks used in the early printing process frames the check-in desk.
Renaissance Nashville Hotel

The Renaissance Hotel has undergone a $20-million building renovation and spent $5 million to renovate meeting space. The hotel has updated its guest rooms, suites, and bathrooms. The renovated rooms include a local touch, with every room’s bathroom receiving a mural from Hatch Show Print. The property has used meeting space and ballrooms in the former Nashville Convention Center’s northern portion for 30 years beginning in 2014.
Hilton Nashville Downtown

Hilton Nashville Downtown has undergone a $28 million upgrade. Phase I was completed in December 2013, which included upgrades to all 330 guest suites, the fitness center which doubled in size, the grand ballroom, and meeting rooms. The hotel introduced a new concierge lounge on the lobby level. Phase II was completed in July 2014 and includes a completely renovated grand atrium lobby and lounge, as well as 17,800 square feet of meeting space. Contemporary design is showcased across the entryway, new flooring is intact, and a more interactive front desk experience is in place.
Sheraton Nashville Downtown

The Sheraton Nashville Downtown Hotel will undergo a $25-million renovation that will be complete late summer 2014. In addition to fully-renovated guestrooms, highlights include a 25-story glass chandelier, brand new lobby featuring a floating wooden staircase, Terrazzo tile, high-end custom seating areas, and luxurious wine bar with a fireplace and library.
Music City Center

The new, state-of-the-art Music City Center (MCC) opened May 2013 and is built out at 1.2 million square feet, stretches 19 acres and six city blocks, and features a 353,143-square-foot exhibit space with multiple flex space, 90,000 square feet of meeting rooms/break-out space, 57,000-square-foot ballroom with built-in stage, and an 18,000-square-foot junior ballroom. The Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame is also located inside the MCC. In keeping with the city’s commitment to sustainable development, the MCC boasts a green roof and is committed to its LEED Gold Certification.

Accompanying its post-flood re-opening comes more than 60 new and returning retailers and dining options, including Puma, Brooks Brothers Factory Store, J. Crew Factory, Michael Kors, Nike Factory Store, Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store, Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH, and Tommy Bahama Outlet. High-fashion, low-priced retailer H&M is finally crossed off the list of Nashville’s most coveted stores. The fashion-forward apparel at budget-friendly prices for men, women, and children has a near cult following and is now open in Opry Mills mall.
A $20-million upgrade includes a facelift to the south entrance of Bridgestone Arena, where an entrance at Fifth and Demonbreun has opened up to Nashville’s developing SoBro area. Other renovations include 3,000 to 6,000 square feet of retail space (including a team store), a new tavern and pub called Tavern ‘96, and upgrades to building parts such as a new HVAC system and carpet on upper levels. New indoor and outdoor plaza areas have been upgraded, along with glass to replace portions of existing concrete. A massive outdoor television screen and news banner are on display for those passing by.

A segment of historic downtown Nashville, Fifth Avenue North, has been renovated and includes better sidewalks, street lights, and a canopy of lights high enough to be seen from Broadway and platforms for art and outdoor dining. A two-way street now has replaced the one-way street.

Grimey’s has added an annex into a second location two doors south on Eighth Avenue. It is not connected to the current location, but features local Frothy Monkey coffee, a “full-service Indie bookstore” by the name of Howlin’ Books, and more records. There is a full acre in the back lot for more parking, bigger music events, and local vendors interested in offering regular food-truck food courts.
The Mall at Green Hills

The newest additions to the mall include Madewell, The North Face, Jimmy Choo, Athleta, and LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmetics. J.Crew’s hipper sister Madewell opens September 16; the store is beloved for its collection of denim in every variation. The North Face will be the first retailer in the state of Tennessee and will open early November of 2014.
Hatch Show Print

After 20 years on lower Broadway, Hatch Show Print has moved to a new space in the Country Music Hall of Fame as part of the museum’s expansion. The location is twice the size of the current one and is now open. The shop has a design area featuring interactive, educational features such as hand-on demos.
Cumberland River Center

The new center is aimed at increasing education and stewardship of its 697-mile-long namesake river. It provides education and training for elected officials, developers, landowners, students, and more. The center includes river models, maps, case studies, and other technical resources. It occupies 5,200 square feet on the third floor of the Bridge Building on the river’s east bank near the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge.

Iconic ax shop Gruhn Guitars has relocated from their longtime home at 400 Broadway to the former Emma building at 2120 Eighth Avenue South. The space now has free, ample parking for visitors and is easily accessible to interstates.

Prichard’s Distillery has opened a second distillery at Fontanel, adding a unique touch to the 186 acre property that was formerly owned by Barbara Mandrell. The new Prichard’s production facility is adjacent to the log cabin tasting center and includes a 400-gallon Alembic copper still custom-designed by Vendome Copper and Brassworks in the style of French cognac. It is the first still of its kind in Tennessee, and using many of the same quality ingredients and centuries-old techniques handed down over five generations of the Prichard’s family, will produce Tennessee Whiskey and an excellent selection of American Rums. Over time, it will be used to experiment with a new line of small batch brandies.

Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum

The Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum recently unveiled a $100-million expansion, doubling its size to 350,000 square feet of dynamic state-of-the-art galleries, archival storage, education classrooms, retail stores, and special event space boasting stunning downtown views. The ambitious 210,000-square-foot expansion, completed in April 2014, includes the 800-seat CMA Theater; the Taylor Swift Education Center - featuring three classrooms and an interactive, hands-on immersion into contemporary country music with the ACM Gallery and the Fred and Dinah Gretsch Family Gallery; the legendary letterpress operation of Hatch Show Print (expanded and relocated inside the museum); and multi-purpose event rental spaces already in high demand.
Accredited by the American Alliance of Museums and called the “Smithsonian of country music” because of its unrivaled collection, the museum adds a strikingly modern touch to the Nashville skyline. The Johnny Cash Museum

Officially authorized by the Estate of Johnny Cash, the museum opened May 2013 and features the most comprehensive collection of Johnny Cash artifacts and memorabilia in the world. The museum is dedicated to ‘The Man in Black’ by longtime friend and fan, Bill Miller. The 18,000 square feet of memorabilia, interactive exhibits, and a 250-seat auditorium, combined with never-before-seen historical documents, letters, awards, costumes, and instruments, takes the visitor on a three-dimensional journey through Johnny Cash’s life, making this THE Cash venue to visit for all ages.
Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum

The Nashville Municipal Auditorium is home to the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum, which honors musicians from stars to studio players that represent all genres of music, with emphasis on 1960s and 1970s popular music. The first floor houses the museum exhibit space and Hall of Fame inductees. Find Hank Williams Sr. to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Motown to Southern Rock – there is truly something of interest to everyone. The exhibit space is divided into cities that have a history of recorded music (such as Detroit, Memphis, Nashville, etc.); each exhibit includes the very instruments that these musicians used to record many of their great hits.

Pinewood Social at Rolling Mill Hill brings casual dining and socializing to an old trolley barn. The space is designed as a social gathering space, providing an alternative to the local coffee shop or neighborhood restaurant. Pinewood Social has six wood bowling lanes reclaimed from an old bowling alley in Indiana, private karaoke rooms, shuffleboard, and televisions. The indoor space flows outside to an outdoor patio, complete with two four-foot-deep swimming pool that serves as the centerpiece to casual dining and socializing. Plush lounge chairs and a 30-foot Airstream tiki bar serves as the food and beverage hub for the pool area. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night options are offered.
The Acme Building, located in the historic 22,500-square-foot Acme Feed building, will features three floors and a rooftop patio, each with its own unique style and special set of offerings that honor Nashville then and now. The first floor will have a modern take on the classic honky tonk with gourmet, fast casual cuisine, over 24 local craft beers on tap, live music, and communal tables. The second floor will be an upscale bar/lounge, where Nashville locals and upscale travelers can go socialize comfortably, with craft cocktails created by an in-house mixologist, lounge seating, projection screens, and vintage table games. The third floor will be home to “The Buggy Room,” the largest one-level event and music venue on Broadway, overlooking downtown and the riverfront. The rooftop of the Acme Building will overlook the entire downtown area, with direct views of Broadway and the Riverfront.
The Bell Tower

A new event venue space is set to open fall 2014 in SoBro called The Bell Tower. The venue is opening in the historic red-brick church located on Fourth Avenue South and Korean Veterans Boulevard. The building, which dates back to 1875, is being renovated to restore hardwood floors throughout the main level and replacing a portion of the back wall with glass that will open out onto a new patio addition. The original bell tower will also be restored with an operational bell and special lighting to create an exterior focal point for the venue.
Sounds Baseball Stadium
Jackson St. - North of the Bicentennial Capitol Mall between Fifth Ave. and Third Ave.
The Sounds baseball stadium, First Tennessee Park, broke ground on January 27, 2014 on the old Sulphur Dell site. The preliminary goal is to have the $40-million ballpark plus a $10-million Metro-financed parking garage constructed in time for the Sounds’ 2015 season. The ballpark will have 8,500 fixed seats, a huge parking lot and a pedestrian greenway, among other things.
The revitalization of Centennial Park’s water features include Lake Watauga and an underground spring that’s been hidden for a century. The work is part of $6 million in upgrades planned at the historic Nashville park and makes up the first of six phases in a master plan that has been in the works since 2011. Water projects include dredging and cleaning Lake Watauga (new aeration and circulation pumps will be added), while the spring will be unearthed to create pools and shallow streams. In addition to the water projects, a new amphitheater will be built near the West End Avenue entrance.
Mayor Karl Dean has announced a place for new park spaces along the riverfront in downtown Nashville. A 12-acre park, including an outdoor amphitheater that will seat 6,500 people, open spaces, trails, a garden, and dog park, will sit on the west bank of the Cumberland River and a 4.5-acre park will sit on the east bank, increasing access to the Cumberland for river activities. Construction begins on the east and west bank fall 2014. A mile of new greenway will extend from the Rolling Mill Hill Greenway to the Riverfront, creating a two-mile continuous walking and biking loop. Costs of development will be approximately $35 million.

Butchertown Hall, the recently announced Germantown beer garden project from local restaurateur Terry Raley, features a two-section stone building. The front section houses the beer hall and bar, with the back portion saved for seated dining and kitchen operations. The beer garden wraps around the rear. The name is based on a nickname given to the area because many German immigrants did their own butchering at their homes.
Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge
Tootsie’s on Broadway has added a third floor and approximately 3,200 square feet to accommodate a third bar and stage.

White’s Mercantile opened under Holly Williams in a former gas station at the southern end of 12South. It is a convenient place to pick up kitchen staples along with items such as cutting boards, cashmere sweaters, and scarfs.
12th & Porter

12th & Porter has over $800,000 in recent improvements including a state-of-the-art sound system, new lighting, a 16-by-8-foot definition video wall, technical advancements, and grid configuration. The venue can be used for comedy, film, televised sports, public speaking engagements, and intimate shows with a sit down food and beverage operation. There are five newly renovated bathrooms. USB charging ports have been installed in the bar and seating areas, so customers can charge their portable devices.

The Rosewall is a new event venue space in The Gulch, housed in a 1930s warehouse across the street from Whiskey Kitchen and Kayne Prime and behind Saint Añejo. The facility is available for weddings and receptions, corporate events, banquets, and fashion shows. In addition, The Rosewall can host music performances and parties for up to 1,000 attendees.

Exit/In owners will open a new bar this spring called Hurry Back, featuring at least 30 beers on tap, most of which will be high-gravity beers and imports. Hurry Back will be located adjacent to Exit/In.

Located in the heart of The Gulch, Galerie Ravin is a luxury contemporary gallery specializing in investment-quality original artworks. They prominently feature Andy Warhol, Alex Katz, and other world-class artists, including New York artist Kelley Ryan.
Legendary fashion designer Manuel Cuevas has opened a new location in downtown Nashville. The 3,100-square-foot store showcases the iconic designer's pieces and features affordable pieces, unique designs that are American made.
Olive & Sinclair Chocolate Co.

Olive & Sinclair, the local artisanal chocolate company, has opened its new factory and retail store in East Nashville. The new space is larger and features historical architectural and design elements, as well as giving visitors a chance to see how the chocolate is made.
Goo Goo Cluster LLC

A Nashville icon will soon have a downtown presence, as Goo Goo Cluster LLC will open this fall in SoBro. The Goo Goo shop will allow visitors to see Premium Goo Goo Clusters being made, learn about the history of the brand and shop for Goo Goo Cluster memorabilia and merchandise.
Music City Roots

The weekly live music and radio show “Music City Roots” will move from Loveless Barn to Factory at Franklin July 9, 2014. The new space will have two larger performance spaces - the 800-seat Jamison Hall and the 2,000-seat Liberty Hall - for the show’s weekly performances.

Anthem is located across from 12th & Porter in the North Gulch area on 12th Avenue. The music space holds 1,000 people and includes a mezzanine level with a 400-capacity VIP room, a boutique dive bar known as ‘Revelry’, a full kitchen, and a 3,000-square-foot staging room.
1305 Clinton St.
Nashville has long been known as a creative town, and now there’s a neighborhood known as “Nashville’s creative neighborhood.” Marathon Village, a unique neighborhood of sorts that is quite a Nashville hotspot, is made up of a group of 100-year-old warehouse buildings, which was originally where the Marathon, a car made in the early 1900s, was built. The buildings sat vacant for decades before a gentleman named Barry Walker purchased the buildings 25 years ago with a vision of making it “Nashville’s Creative Neighborhood.” Fast forward to today, and it has become just that.
Barry rents the space out to creative companies with the belief that creative minds feed off each other. It’s become a complex for artists’, photographers’, and designers’ studios. Additionally, Antique Archaeology, Mike Wolfe’s store made famous on “American Pickers,” opened there, as well as Corsair Artisan Distillery. A coffee shop, art gallery, Bang Candy Company, William Collier’s, studios home to Otis James and Emil Erwin, and local radio station, Lightning 100, are also located here. Marathon Music Works, a popular music venue and event space, is designed to accommodate a range of uses including private events, fundraisers, concerts, corporate events, and video shoots.
