LIVE ON THE GREEN PUBLIC SQUARE PARK THURSDAYS, SEPTEMBER 8-OCTOBER 13, 2011
Live On the Green is a free outdoor concert series every Thursday night in downtown Music City. The event highlights local acts along with national artists with a connection to Nashville. Not only is this a venue to bring community and music together but to utilize and encourage environmentally-friendly practices at the same time.
- The location of the event, the Public Square Park, is actually a 2.25 acre green roof that sits on top of a 5-level underground parking garage. The structure incorporates a 57,000-gallon rainwater collection system that's used to irrigate the green roof throughout the year.
- Recycling centers are be located around the event for aluminum cans, plastic cups and paper products.
- A free bike check is offered.
- All merchandise for sale is made from eco-friendly materials and inks.
