NATIONAL FOLK FESTIVAL SEPTEMBER 2-4 BICENTENNIAL CAPITOL MALL STATE PARK
One of the most prestigious and longest-running arts festivals comes to Music City for a three-year run, beginning this September. The 73rd National Folk Festival celebrates the depth and breadth of American culture through music, dance, art, food, workshops, parades and exhibits.
Cultures and traditions from American generations that have been here for centuries will be represented along with those of our most recent immigrants - exploring the true richness and beauty of our country's soul.
From Middle Eastern food, Tennessee crafts and a New Orleans brass band to breakdancers, a flea circus and a Cherokee storyteller, the National Folk Festival offers a fun time for everyone.
The event is free and open to the public. Friday, September 2: 7-10:30pm Saturday, September 3: 12-10:30pm Sunday, September 4: 12-6:30pm
