DOWNTOWN MUSIC CITY JANUARY 8-9   Book a room for the weekend. For the fifth consecutive year, the stars of country music and NASCAR will converge on Music City for Sprint Sound & Speed Presented by SunTrust January 8-9. The event kicks off at the Ryman Auditorium with two shows of the Grand Ole Opry Friday, January 8. Hank Williams Jr., Chris Young and NASCAR legend Kyle Petty and his band will perform. More artists and drivers to be announced. Saturday, January 9 takes the event to the Municipal Auditorium where fans of racing and country music the opportunity to get up-close and personal with drivers, team owners and top-name musicians for autographs, story-telling and question-and-answer sessions. The blockbuster event will also feature show car and sponsor displays, as well as a charitable auction with memorabilia from the racing and entertainment industries.
